yeah i got slim legs but compared to people like Kirkland, Angulo Alvarez doesnt look that big, i cant imagine him being a middleweight soon theres some big guys there

 

canelo is like manny and carries most of his weight in the lower body.

tyson was just huge everywhere. calves, thighs, arms, chest, neck, back.

you see some 5'10" 235-pound guy in the gym with 15 percent bodyfat thats a big muther****er.

 

Or he could have reached his mature weight early and will stay at 154 for a while.

He doesn't look that shredded in the pic.

 

Looks in decent shape though.

 

I hope that he didn't cut too much weight, you'll see him getting wobbled by punches he would usually be able to take.

 

Yeah his legs are big but imagine when he goes to middleweight, Martinez, Quillin, GGG all have height and size over him

 

he needs to keep making light middle, he would get eaten up at middleweight.

 

That's an obvious reason for sure. Quads are the largest muscles in your body. You say you hit the gym? I suggest you incorporate leg workouts or you will look funny as hell. Disproportionate.

 

This is what I believe might be Canelo's downfall. Sucks for him but he will struggle as he moves up, dealing with bigger guys. He matured at a very young age. He has a grown mans body but is only 22.

 

Martinez isn't much bigger than him. I think they're pretty close in size.

 

sergio is 5'10"

canelo is 5'7"

3 inches is substantial when talking weight classes, especially when sergio has excellent footwork to go with his height advantage.

griffen, qawi, tyson, tua, mugabi and toney were all short for their divisions but all had ko power at their respected weight classes and against legit opponents.

of the two guys that came to fight(rhodes/mosely) canelo failed to show the devasting power that can allow him to succefully move up in weight.

in fact, it remains to be seen if he will be successful against legit 154's(molina,lara,kirkland,trout,vanes,rosales).

 

He's definitely not 5'7", more like 5'8" 1/2 - 5'9".

But I was talking in terms of weight not height and reach. I'm pretty sure they both weigh around the same on fight night.

Toney wasn't a big puncher even at 160, he would stop guys late with an accumulation of punches. I'm more concerned with boxing ability than power. Abraham was a big puncher at 160 then moved up to 68 and got schooled by most guys he fought.

 

Yeah, Martinez and Canelo would be a good fight to watch. Good solid match-up. Canelo is at least 8ft tall.
