Now that a rematch clause between Cotto and Canelo has been settled. And in my personal opinion it's a fight that Canelo will win.... they'll keep rematching each other until GGG looks old in a fight, then Canelo will finally fight GGG and beat him. Canelo will pull a Mayweather on GGG.
Who did Mayweather wait to get old? Also, isn't a rematch clause of a fight this magnitude pretty common?
Canelo has no obligation to fight Golovkin. Never knew a rematch clause could be used to duck someone... The more you know.
:good Made a thread about it too. Everyone will cry foul after Nov is done. But it's business though, everybody remember that. Cotto and Canelo are playing the G'ster. Canelo will drop the belt and head back to 155 where he is king or Cotto will and head back to 154 and pick up Floyd's old belts.:-(
Another ret@rd(hardly surprised it's a GGG fan too) with a thread like this. So GGG gets old but Canelo simply pauses his age?.
You need to learn to respect other's opininon. Canelo is 8 years younger than GGG, of course he'll be in his prime when GGG is past it. As for the OP, most title fight contracts have rematch clauses, It's not neccesarily a duck.
And i'm not even a GGG fan. I'm just saying i just don't buy into the hype of his, and i actually think that when Canelo and GGG fight, Canelo will have the age advantage and the experience to overcome GGG
Canelo just turned 25. I wouldn't care if he didn't fight Golovkin until he was 30. Golovkin can move down in weight and fight him, or move up and fight Ward. Or he can stay at 160 and keep beating up bums.
I don't see Golovkin fading all that much as he gets older. He doesn't rely on speed or reflexes at all. Power and ring IQ stay with you.
Pacquiao could've had the fight in 2010 but turned it down because getting blood taken wealena him for three days. Furthermore, Pacquiao is two years younger than Floyd and looked better than Floyd in the two fights preceding their fight.
Golovkin uses subtle movements for defense. Once he loses his reflexes which are usually the first to go, he will be even more stationary and will be getting hit with more frequency. Very similar to Chavez Sr.
I need to see more of Golovkins defense to make an accurate statement about that, hopefully we see what it's like in the Lemieux fight. And Golovkin doesn't really use his legs in the way that getting old would effect them. He cut's off the ring with precision using pressure and feints to set up traps, not fancy or fast footwork, but deliberate, smart footwork.
Lemieux will definitely throw some bombs though, and Lemieux is decently fast. It'll be interesting to see how Golovkins defense holds up.
