I'm not going to poke the bear any more than this but this has the freaking out. a close canelo win or losing 4 rounds will = a robbery no matter what.
Internet is an echo chamber. Every fight that goes to the cards these days seems to be shrouded in controversy. Even if the right fighter wins people say the loser should have had more rounds scored in his favour. Not even a tko is enough for some.... look at the Wilder / Fury II glove controversy ( pure fantasy imo ).
Yeah. I mean posters here call the Joshua-Parker fight a close one, so I don't know what it will take for a pts win by Canelo over a house favourite here to not get screams of robbery. A shut out will probably still be called a close decision and then the complaints will be that the ref robbed BJS of a win. Doesn't matter what Canelo does, he will get close to zero credit on this forum.
LOL, You are right. The irony/hypocrasy is laughable. These sore loser fansboys cry about how the judges gave every close round to the other guy, yet gave every close round to their hero. SMFH.

It all depends... I think the hardcore fans of both will already have their cards filled out (and obviously Canelo has a lot more of those than BJS). There's plenty of people around who can't stand either of them - as long as it's competitive, most will probably be pretty honest with their scores I would think. Add to that... Saunders will almost certainly play for points and never really threaten Canelos chin - some people have a bias to score in favour of that and some a bias to scoring against it, the difference in styles will certainly leave people with different views on how the cards "should" read.
One of the biggest misconceptions in boxing is that a close bout can't be called a robbery. A robbery has nothing to do with how close a bout is scored. It is regarding the deliberate wrong scoring of any given round(s) which is subsequently intended to alter the outcome of a bout. It wouldn't at all surprise me if this was a robbery.
Of course no and this is thank to his fans posting here. A lot of ppl had posted about Canelo opponents that they are bums, classic phrase is: he had beat nobody. Recently actual is talk like this about this BJS, one poster even already had called him a bum and suggested that Canelo will quickly KO a bum. Yeah, he will not get any credit from ppl who are not his fans. Exactly due to his fans posts here. 1. Classic method is to call his opponents as bums who had beated nobody. call his opponents as bums beaters with not enough credentials and like this. Yeah, a lot of ppl did not had gave him any credit even if he had KOed GGG in 1 st round 3 fights in row. GGG according to some posters opinion had fought nobody. Now there is BJS and sorry, yeah, he will get little " credit " even if he will KTFO BJS in 1 st round 3 fights in row.
If , & its a big IF, Canelo wins any fight without obvious "help", I'll willingly give him credit. I hate to say this about Texas but I do not think BJS will get a square deal. Who are the officials assigned ?? That'll be a good sign. I just hope the better man wins with no jiggery pokery
