I think a lot of fans are buying into canelo's myth, there's no way GBP pit Canelo against Williams and if they do, they better send the memo (with a lot of cash) to PW, who Canelo has fought that make you think he could beat Williams? A guy that fought Martinez twice, the first fight was very competitive and you can always get caught, Quintana twice, Margarito, Lara, Winky Wright, Verno Phillips and some others, now again, who could tell me if Canelo has fought anyone resembling that list?

    You sound like an idiot.

Isn't Canelo going around calling himself a champion @ 154lbs? Didn't he just co-headline a PPV event that sold 1.5 million views? Isn't the Sept 15th show on PPV with Alvarez as the A-Side headliner?

Alvarez needs to fight somebody. Williams is *damaged goods* and EVERYBODY knows it. Passing this off as a PPV is LOW even by Boxing's standards.

This fight should be on BAD - where it belongs. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, this fight probably should get televised on ESPN...

P Will is shop-worn. The KO by Sergio left him without snap in his punches, then the Lara fight wore him down even more.

Truth is that he has left too much of himself in the ring and a fight against Canelo will not end well for him.

It's hard to argue with Golden Boy nutthuggers.

    Paul get's KO'd = shop worn.
Kirkland gets smoked by some opponent they chose to look good against
in a showcase fight = PPV worthy.

Paul takes Sergio Martinez to war and wins = robbery.
Kirkland goes to war with a crude slugger in Angulo = FOTY

Most of you just recycle the crap you hear from Max Kellerman. Seriously. Try coming up with your own opinions instead of bringing up the same old crap.

"Williams used to be good but his chin can't take it anymore." WHAT?
The guys been KO'd exactly the same amount of times as Kirkland. Not to mention he's been molested for a whole entire fight, one LESS time then James lol.

Richard Schaefer already mentioned James Kirkland as a possible opponent for Canelo... Now the new possible opponent is Williams! What a joke.. Paul is shot, he's slurring his speech now days! This fight should not be on PPV... Atleast Kirkland is young, hungry and will come to win!

Williams is an extremely dangerous fight. The only tougher fight I can think of is Lara and Lara is very low reward so I don't blame anyone for this fight. I can't believe anyone could criticize Williams as an opponent. He is better than anyone Martinez has fought recently and I don't hear the posse collecting for Martinez.

If you didn't enjoy Kirkland vs Angulo quit watching boxing. Maybe your just here to troll Pac threads. If that is the case maybe you should get back to it.

Williams offers any fighter a tough challenge based on his height, reach, and incredible workrate. Williams still has some fight left in him, no doubt.

You crazy man!!! P-Will is a stylistic nightmare for Canelo, high workrate, awkward angles and iron chin......Canelo will have his work cut out for him, Canelo isn't a slick southpaw who are the only opponenets to date that P-Dub hasn't impressed against and his lulls in activity will not be wise vs Williams.

far better than a fight vs glass jawed joke Kirkland who Canelo would bully and KO in 2 rounds tops!!I cannot understand how people think Kirkland would be a bigger challenge....the guy just got KO'd by featherfisted Ishida (who williams just EASILY whupped) and bullied and schooled by feather fisted Molina....Alvarez would eat him alive in 2 rounds and Kirkland presents zero problems or challenge for Canelo, WIlliams would easily be the more difficult fight!!
