Got that right. Canelo has trouble with real slick skilled fighers Cotto is not one of those.

Vargas was no hype job.he was a damn good fighter.Beat Ike Quartey and winky and went to to toe with Tito Trinidad all by 23 years of age.fighting monsters and back problems ruined his career at a young age. But he was definitely no hype job

Imo, pretty baseless on a few counts

    - Calling vargas a hypejob
    - Comparing Canelo to Vargas as if hes even gotten to that level yet, one guy is having 50/50 fights with Trout and Lara, the other was having 50/50 fights with prime Winky Wright and dominating Ike Quartey

This guy has no clue. Cotto already got schooled by Trout and would had been embarrassed if he ever fought Lara. Canelo is going to retire Cotto for good.

Canelo has already been at the elite level for longer than Vargas was, and hasn't been as mismanaged.

Vargas was no hypejob, thats not what i meant. But just like vargas, canelo has picked the wrong person to leapfrog his career. Thats all

All i worry about is that uppercut, but freddie will prepare for that im sure. Anyone can get caught in exchanges, both so thats no advantage. Cotto has the better jab and footwork and canelo needs to plant his feet to throw hard and takes long periods of inactivity during rounds

Thats the mexicans problem, they keep living in the past ( the trout fight) as if cotto could not train harder or be better than that night lol.

Didn't morales look'd like $hit vs raheem and then proceed to look fantastic vs maidana and garcia? Exactly

    ah, :good

I can see what youre saying but, at the same time, if a Miguel Cotto whose obviously in the twighlight of his career is considered too big of a step up for a prime Canelo at this point, and too big a risk to take to participate in the biggest fight of the year, then he might as well just pack it in. This type of fight, and opponent, is perfect for Canelo right now, and is why most fighters are in the sport for.

Trinidad, by contrast, is by most peoples standards, a legitimate great fighter in his prime, and at 154 was seriously a destroyer of worlds. I could see why that should have probably been considered a misstep by Vargas's management where the risk probably didnt match the reward at that time.

I dont think this can be considered a misstep, regardless of what the outcome turns out to be. This fight is more along the lines of exactly the right fight for both guys right now, and the best man will win.

I dont see why Cotto should be considered poison for Canelos career by any means, even if he loses. I think that is an overrating of Cotto.

I dont see what person Canelo could fight, that would be close to as big a fight as this, that isnt as dangerous or moreso than Cotto. Meaning, if Canelo wants any fight of this caliber, its going to be against a risky opponent. I dont think Cotto's danger outweighs the risk of taking a fight like this.

This fight will really prove if Cotto's historic win over Maravilla was really a fluke or not. The MEX-PR rivalry just adds more interest in the fight.

I don't think so between 154-60 who is there that you'd pick over Canelo? I know fan boys will say GGG(I don't see it but OK) I think Andrade would be a tough match up but that's about it.

G, andrade, Eubank, bjs, quillin, lemieux, soro, ndam
All those guys give Canelo a tough night, a few beat him.
