Canelo winning the last three rounds on all the judges cards could mean the fix was definitely in or Canelo unequivocally won those rounds, which do you prefer?
Clear as day imo. I don't understand how one can call themselves a hardcore boxing fan and not know how to judge a fight. Most of these fans giving the fight to GGG don't even factor in defense in judging, all they say is GGG landed more punches. Landing more punches isn't even directly part of the scoring.
This round was a clear GGG round. The second half of the round was not even close.A few landed but a lot missed by Canelo.
He did, clearly. I know you have a difficult time being objective with Canelo, but putting all your hate aside, Canelo landed the better punches, used effective defense to make GGG miss, and had GGG following him ins straight lines. I can accept if someone wants to argue that a case can be made for GGG to win the 10th round, I can see an argument being made, but using the 10 pt. scoring system, GGG did not win the 10th rd.
Let's just say that if one had to argue the fight round by round, you could conceivably argue a shutout for Golovkin. No way in hell can you do it for Canelo. People awarding 6 rounds to Canelo are looking for rounds to give to him.
The younger Clenelo didn’t beat GGG one thing I did notice is GGG looked his age 35 that night but still beat the doubled wrapped Clenelo by close but clear win the judges specially Byrd was a disgrace.Even with the advantage the clen conditioning, double wraps, and rugged youth on his side I feel he didn’t look on top like it wasn’t enough .The old bull Tripple G backed him up all night and the challenger didn’t take the belt like he should coasting around Running.
Judges know the scores as the fights happening, if they don't remember they have pens, paper, they can't easily mark something in front of themselves (even a little dot) to remind them and see who they have ahead. I can score fights drunk and remember my score, don't get me wrong, my scores are terrible but I will know who I have in front and by how much. stone cold sober I'd be fine, I'd be able to tell you what rounds I scored for who, the score would probably still be terrible though but I'm consistent. So professional judges will know what's happening. Personally, in my opinion the judge who scored it a draw was looking for a draw, he either bottled it or didn't want side with Golovkin for whatever reason. Oh and Byrd was looking above the ring at the lights and just imagined what she'd like to see and scored that.
Not nearly as much as Canelo made GGG miss. And not nearly as emphatically either. Canelo ducked under GGG hooks several times and made GGG miss wildly, like the hook attempt with 36 seconds left in round 10. He made GGG look silly and judges notice that. GGG didn't give Canelo much head movement, let alone upper body movement. I didn't really see too many examples of GGG making Canelo miss. He blocked punches for sure. GGG is skilled at blocking, but he's not skilled at evading or getting out of the way of punches, something that Canelo is highly skilled at. Canelo is harder to hit flush, particularly with power punches. GGG did land a lot of jabs on Canelo, some of them very solid and flush. That had a lot to do with Canelo standing toe-to-toe with Golovkin for large portions of the match. When Canelo started backpeddling, GGG had to chase and naturally had a difficult time landing the jab. Canelo did well to mix up when he stood toe-to-toe and when he used footwork. As much as Canelo got criticized by his naysayers for moving away at times, to beat GGG he really needs to find a balance to keep GGG guessing and off balance.
If I saw a different fight, then I wouldn't have responded directly to your sequence of answered punches and went through which of those landed. I won't have to do anything because I know you won't do that. You've already made it clear that you don't like to discuss details. But if you did, of course I'd be happy to go through each punch and confirm or deny if they missed or were picked off. And I encourage you to do so, that's what boxing forums are for.
