With Golovkin its either defense or offence , he can't blend the two together whereas Canelo can. GGG taking shots on the gloves and waiting until Canelo is finished before mounting a comeback isn't scoring criteria. Slipping shots , coming back with counters and rendering aggression ineffective is big scorning criteria. As is landing a variation of punches since hooks and body shots are harder to land than jabs. Canelo was hitting GGG all over with hooks , body shots , uppercuts and pull counters. The work he done at the start of the round wasn't overruled by popping out jabs and ineffective stalking. Canelo sealed the round and Golovkin didn't do enough to win it back
-wraps were legal confirmed by the NSAC. -both fighters were VADA tested for the first fight and Canelo passed all tests.
So Floyd can win rounds that way but Canelo can't? Floyd was better at not getting hit than Canelo, and was a more efficient boxer puncher, but on the flip side, Canelo is a bigger puncher than Floyd. Canelo landed heavier significant punches in the rounds where he fought off the backfoot vs Golovkin, particularly in round 10, than Floyd typically does. So it's not like getting on your bike and not fighting in spurts wins you rounds by itself. What won Canelo the 10th was the punches he landed, fighting off the back foot in the 2nd half of the round prevented Golovkin from landing enough punches to even up or win the round.
That's silly. I've made it clear on several occassions that I disagreed with her scoring of several rounds, and I had it closer than she had it. I also disagreed with Byrd giving Floyd all 12 rounds vs Berto. I thought Berto won several rounds vs Floyd and the other two judges agreed.
Thats the thing Golovkin punches we’re backing up Canelo it’s been awhile since I watched the fight.I thought it was boring fight. At the time I thought Golovkin had more authority on his punches and had more effect than Canelo’s punches.Canelo had flashier punches but most of those were few never really indicated that he was taking over the fight it was more of trying keep Golovkin off kind of punches.Where the champion punches had the challenger scrambling and fleeing.
Especially more than 6 I can’t wait for this rematch to end. If GGG wins as he should, debate is over. Only reason it exists is because of corruption and the Clenelo fans who can’t score fights properly.
You're dreading the rematch. I can't wait for the rematch. Make sure you have your excuses ready for September.
That's one of a few differences I see in regards to Canelo fans and GGG fans. Canelo fans want to see the rematch, want the best man to win, seem more than willing to accept any outcome, and will enjoy the fight regardless of who wins, obviously rooting for their fighter. GGG fans seem very emotional, it transcends onto their arguments constantly using childish names to refer to boxers and forum members, use theories to argue their points, and are hoping with all their might Canelo doesn't beat GGG, let alone KO.
I can respect that score. My score is almost identical except I had Canelo winning the 1st round. He landed the better punches, made GGG miss more, and dictated the pace of that round while GGG was hesitant, seemed confused at times, and did not land anything significant.
I mean I don't want to paint all GGG fans with a broad brush or anything, but several of the GGG posters I've encountered on here have made it clear that they are not looking forward to the rematch. That signals to me that they are very worried about what may happen. It's like their entire perspective of the rematch seems to revolve around excuses lol. I've never seen anything like it really. The irony of that is how GGG fans talked so much smack about how Canelo was ducking GGG two years ago, or about how GGG was gonna KO Canelo last September. Now many of those same people don't want to see the rematch happen. GGG fans have never faced the kind of adversity that Canelo has provided Golovkin with. I don't think they know how to handle it, because they haven't experienced it before.
Yes I respect that score as well. He had GGG winning but he agrees that Canelo won rounds 10 11 and 12 so that goes directly to this topic. Yet we have a poster claiming that "corruption" is the reason why Canelo won rounds 10 11 and 12, and another poster claiming that GGG won round 10 "clearly". Canelo just simply won the last 3 rounds. Now could you make an argument that GGG won round 10? Maybe, but it's a real stretch considering how Canelo was just teeing off on Golovkin in the first minute. GGG made a mini-comeback in the 2nd minute, he was pressing and starting to take more risks because he knew he was losing the round, but I mean giving that round to Golovkin is being very generous to somebody who ate so many heavy punches by Canelo and was being made to miss. There wasn't much offense in round 1, most agree that Canelo won that round. In addition to rounds 1-3 & 10-12, I had Canelo edging round 4 and was impressed with the uppercuts Canelo landed in rounds 6 and 8. I don't have any major problems with giving Golovkin rounds 4-9, but most of those rounds were close considering the bombs that Canelo was landing. And you have silly GGG fans making comments like this . . . . . . literally trying to argue that a GGG shutout is conceivable lol.
