First of all just want to have a normal discussion over this, canelo isn't a chicken its just IMO a business decision

Golden boy and canelos team don't want yo face GGG trust me. Canelo is golden boys cash cow and brings in huge money fighting anyone. Still young and has got at least a dozen ppvs in him if managed correctly and could bring in 100's of millions of dollars. If they have any sort of business acumen at all they not let canelo near GGG as GGG isn't like the may weather fight where you lose, you take no damage and your profile is raised. If GGG beats you he runs you over like a truck and your remembered as that guy busted up on the canvas and your value goes down. I don't believe canelo is yellow becuause I think he has faith in himself and will fight anyone as demonstrated by the Lara fight , however I think this is a bridge too far and golden boy will block the fight for him.

Golden boy stands to lose too much if canelo loses and he will lose.if he wins and that's a long shot he becomes a bigger name but not by much. Iv a feeling he will make one defense ,it will come time to fight GGG and he will say his moving back to 154 ,drains the life out of himself for one fight then starts fighting at 156 claiming his not a middleweight again

You make good points barcham but canelo support is very nationalistic and bordering on a cult following if he dropped back down to 154 for a fight and he's not a middleweight boxing fans will see it as a duck but Mexicans who love him will justify it . golden boy have way too much to lose by taken this fight

As you said in your previous post, I have doubts as to whether Canelo could repeatedly drain himself down to 154, and think an appearance at 1t4 would be a one-time deal. He would vacate the WBC Middleweight title and fight a Willie Nelson or a Vanes Matirosyan at 154, then fight at the 156 or 157 catchweight against guys like Gabe Rosado (which would be a good action-filled fight, IMO).

    I agree with the OP.
No way this fight happens. Way too much to lose here and GGG will bull doze this kid.

I told people for momths GGG was wasting his time with Canelo but they would listen all they said was he wants to unify and fight the Cotto-Canelo winner. I told them that fight wouldn't happen for years and GGG should move on and fight Ward instead and his fans and GGG made all kinds of excuses as to why Ward wasn't worth their time when in reality a fight with Ward is much better than a fight with Canelo anyway. Canelo is A-side he's young he calls the shots not only that he's much younger than GGG time is on his side not GGGs.:deal

Yes, Canelo is a chicken because if he and his team was confident that he would beat GGG, they would make the fight.

"Just a business decision," is another way of saying, NO CONFIDENCE.

That is a fair statement and I hate this culture of calculating risk against reward.
But in this case if they take the fight goldenbiy could stand to lose 100 million plus in the future and canelo could be ruined

Golden boys future is resting on canelos shoulders IMO and they need him to bring in money for a few more years .

Its all an excuse for GGG to stay down in the little league facing bums. Nobody actually cares about meaningless straps in a weak division. Little is 34 years old and wasting his prime opening cans. If he was as good as his fanboys claim he'd be moving up to chase the big money fights, not earning peanuts against the likes of Willy jr.

Agreeing to face Ward but only at 164 was also a 'business decision'

The fight will happen. From a pure business perspective it's the biggest fight out there. Secondly, Canelo has taken enough fights that "canelo will not take" to disprove the chicken-**** assertion that "Canelo is chicken".

I'm gonna be a nerd here. Canelo is no Jedi until he confronts Vadar.

A fighter is never validated until he fights the best man in his own divison.

The Canelo/GGG fight will happen this year and it will catapult GGG even higher. Casuals will start to take an interest and GGG could go out with some big money fights. He has earned it because he is one of the best.

I like Canelo and was for him versus Cotto but GGG would beat the **** out of him.
I say this as not the biggest GGG fan. I don't think this will be a real test for GGG.

I agree with this and the reason is Canelo will stand and trade with GGG. Most fighters won't do that. Canelo will and it will be his undoing.
