Nothing surprising about it. Controlling the dates is the best way to do loads of PEDs and still be able to test clean. Floyd perfected this model. And Canelo will get the added benefit of turning Golovkin from "getting old" as a fighter to just plain old. It's really too bad because the Golovkin-Alvarez fight was a good one. And, If they rematched in a few months it would actually tell us who the better fighter really is. Now, we just get a predestined script from douchebag DeLaHoya.

    That's one long period
Time of the month nah canelhoe takes it to extremes
    That time of year
Get the protected one some Tampax
Hoe should fight jacobs in December with neither stepping on to the scales after the the contracted weight
Playing them both at their own game
Hoe ain't got the stones for that

It was a conspiracy. Not a pen was to be found in the British Isles for love nor money.

:couch: < Some say this is a pic of Eubank Jr ducking GGG, but James5000 knows it's actually Eubank Jr looking under the couch for a pen :angel2:

Only quail feather and a proper ink well are good enough for Sir Eubanks of Duckinshire!

    (Just kidding...I like Eubanks Jr :) )

I'd rather see the rematch sooner but I figured they would scheduled it around the Cinco De Mayo weekend.

It's pretty standard nowadays for the big names who are well paid to only fight 2x per year. HW champs pre-Louis defended their titles less than that.

Floyd fought one time the year he turned 27, three times the next year, then once or two times per year after that (except 2008). Oscar fought twice the year he turned 27, Pacquiao twice, Barrera twice, Hearns once.

If we get 3 fights in one calendar year from one of the big names in the sport, I'm pleasantly surprised.

El Pollo wants to wait until May or ever Sept., but when the time comes they will change the date again. Oscar does not want Golovkin to fight during this long layoff because it will help El Pollo and the longer they wait the more Golovkin will get rusty and older. Oscar will still own the judges, referee, boxing commission, etc. Golovkin should fight Saunders, but Oscar won't allow him to if they want the rematch. El Pollo wants the rematch when Golovkin is 40.
