Canelo vs Beterbiev at 175 is more interesting and exciting than Bivol vs Beterbiev. Then I would like to see Beterbiev vs Usyk at cruiserweight.
Beterbiev could put canelo in a body bag and the judges would still give the first four rounds to canelo.
Canelo would hit Beterbiev but AB would put the hurt on him and end his career. Beterbiev has a few miles on him but he’s still a brute and a very tough fighter. Bivol is the only guy with a chance to beat him at LH. Canelo would never take the Beterbiev fight. He’s never faced a stronger or meaner opponent. Beterbiev is brutal and still has some gas in the tank. Still dangerous.
Well, for starters dude has had what 20 fights (Has he fought since AB)? To compare what he is capable of (performance wise) to what Canelo is capable of, is not a comparison. Canelo is a more experienced, more versatile, more skilled fighter than Gvozdyk has ever been or will be. No disrespect to Gvozdyk but he’s just not on Canelo’s level. He’s naturally bigger/stronger I concede that, otherwise what are you suggesting presents a greater challenge than Canelo?
I disagree with your assessment, respectfully. Canelo is better defensively, he has more punch variety, he’s a more creative combination puncher, and while he isn’t going to one shot stop AB…I don’t care who you are, it’s not intelligent to steadily take clean shots from Canelo Alvarez. I don’t dispute AB has power and could obviously hurt any man, Canelo is a different breed. People love to hate him but the dude is a great fighter, not sure why that’s so hard for people to accept.
All that said, Canelo isn’t beating Bivol…styles make fights, Canelo has nothing to give Bivol real legit problems.
thats like saying to me "look at me, this is how much i understand boxing". nobody is saying you got to like the guy, hate away. but lets separate the emotion from the boxing. the guy has elite timing, which is essential when everyone you fight is longer and taller than you. you have to lean in more to counter, exposing yourself more to being countered yourself. you need exceptional defense to be able to get inside the longer guys punching range without accumulating damage yourself. he has mastered every punch in the manual, can employ each in real time, and understands how to set each one up. yes he has weaknesses, and at these heights, against the guys hes challenging, its a lot to bite off. but make no mistake, this guy can fight at elite level.
I always said Beterbiev was overrated. I'm not sure Canelo stopping him though, probably win a decision at best
