Good post. Most people get blinded by the hate and only see one side of the story.

IMO GGG stops Canelo at MW(anywhere from 155-160) but I'm starting to think GGG's team might not feel that way.

At this point in their careers, GGG needs Canelo more than vice-verse so i'm stumped by their refusal to accept the CW.:huh

He hasn't fought a single middleweight yet. Golovkin should just enforce his mando.

I'd love to see the fight.

I hate how Floyd acted in negotiations with Canelo. But two wrongs don't make a right.

Canelo has moved up to GG's division where GG was already a champ, and he's since won the lineal belt. The fight is a unification fight and also a mandatory.

Canelo put in a voluntary request to face Khan first.

Again, I hate what Floyd did, but the circumstances here are a little different.

Canelo's fight night weight against Trout was 172 pounds, which is more than what GG has weighed in some fights.

You can't hold a lineal title hostage.

If GG doesn't make any concessions, then I won't criticise him at all, and I'll hold Canelo fully responsible for the fight not taking place.

If the division's too big for him (which is a joke) he can go back to JMW and let the big boys fight.

Boxing is already at a low without this BS.

I personally think Alvarez takes it close at either weight, to me it's more about the options, at 160 it's only GGG and maybe Saunders neither are huge fight's GGG's ppv should have shown you he's not as big as he thinks. staying at basically JMW he can fight better comp vs the JMW's in his division and the WWs coming up.
People were just complaining when Alvarez was rumored to be fighting at 154 vs Smith for his JMW Title so really people are going to hate regardless.

The biggest point people tend to miss is the weight or whatever Canelo says really doesn't matter, GGG is mandatory the only reason he has yet to fight for the title is because he keeps side stepping. On paper Khan is a more accomplished fighter worth more money, if GGG is content to side step I won't blame Alvarez for that.

    Why are you stumped?

They've already let Canelo take a voluntary, and they seem confident that they have the full backing of the WBC.

No official negotiations have taken place as yet, as both fighters have got other opponents lined up.

:patsch The MANDATORY FIGHT will either force Canelo/O$CAR to get in the ring or forfeit the belt.

Now who thinks Canelo can beat GGG @ 160 lb. ???

    :hat OSCAR doesn't !!!

It's bullsh!t. Canelo's last fight have been at 155 cause he can no longer drop down below 154. He's been lying recently about fighting Khan at 155 cause Khan wanted a shot at the belt, and Khan's been saying that Canelo's team are the one who kept saying the fight had to be made at 155. I believe Khan more than Canelo.

Now GGG could and probably would drop down at 155-156-157 for a payday against Canelo. But right now he is in a position to fight him for the belt WITHOUT having to drop down due to his mandatory spot. Maybe they believe Canelo won't drop the belt and fight him at 160. Truth is we don't know what goes on behind closed doors.

Canelo doesn't care about the WBC MW Joke.. Sure he is recognized as a MW titlist, but Canelo is bigger than that pathetic excuse for a title.

GGG needs to be a good boy and go down to 155 and prove he is a better fighter over all, not just a better MW fighter.

Forgoing his position to someone else, could have pushed a Cotto fight instead side steps for Geale, again could of pushed a Cotto fight followed it up by side stepping for Alvarez, could of pushed for an Alvarez fight is now side stepping for Khan, and will likely side step again in Sept.

Me personally I was a GGG fan when he got on the scene, I remember suggesting that if he feels he's so ducked he should make himself mandatory and either force fighters to fight or vacate. GGG stans complained why should he fight Rubio to become mandatory, after he became mandatory I expected him to put action into all his bluster but so far GGG has ducked, made excuses, or ignored when elite prime fighters have called him out like Ward, Lara, Degale, even Hopkins to an extent and has side stepped for the past 3 years when put in position to actually try to make a big fight for the title he's mandatory for.

real talk people can try to bash Alvarez for fighting at 155 but lets be real with GGG fighting at 160 and Alvarez at 155,
Golovkin can fight who, Jacobs, Saunders, Wade, Johnson type fighters while Alvarez can fight guys like the Charlos, Lara rematch, Andrade, big WW's like Brook or Thurman, money fight's like Bradley or Pacquiao all of which would be greater than or equal to anything Alvarez could do at 160.

Cotto was given a voluntary fight so Geale was not a step aside.
I think he got money for Cotto-Canelo step aside.

But his 2nd step aside in Dec to let Canelo have a free fight in May really irked me. Stupid move by K2.
