    At the mythical 155lb belt...

    Golovkin brutalises Canelo.

Canelo needs to actually defend his MW belt at MW.

Or, he needs a new "Caneloweight" belt made for him.

    This is sad.

No such thing as a 155 pound weight division. Canelo and Oscar know what is going to happen if they fight GGG.

This is a mandatory, the whole catchweight thing should be out the window, either fight at the MW limit or strip him of the belt. I'm not a fan of Golovkin, but I am a fan of crowning the appropriate person and not ducking your mandatory, especially when the mandatory is stiff competition.

The facts of the case are pretty straightforward.

By demanding a MW title bout at 155, which is, for all practical purposes, in the junior middleweight range, Canelo is saying "I am not a Middle weight, and I don't want to fight at middleweight."

And if that is the case, he should cede the MW title and campaign at Jnr MW.

    What's next ?

A Cruiser 'champ' who'll only defend at 176 lbs ?

A heavyweight who's only willing to defend at 201 lbs ?

GGG should accept the 155 catchweight and call Canelo's bluff. Canelo won't take the fight no matter what the conditions are. He just doesn't think he stands a chance against GGG.

Not to play the devil's advocate because I'm not siding with Canelo but wanted to point out: 155 is technically in the middleweight range.

Not for a mandatory, Canelo has to accept to defend at 160 or to **** off.

Why doesn't he just drop the belt and fights whoever he wants at any weight he wants?
He's holding up the whole division.

Yeah exactly. The whole division is being logjammed because Pollo Rojo refuses to lose ONE MORE POUND off of his fat little body and campaign at 154. The f*ck does he think he is?

He's not just ducking Golovkin, he's ducking the entire middleweight division. I think ducking several hundred guys at once sets a new precedent for cowardice.
