Golovkin's resume is solid, not spectacular but solid.

Also he's selling out venues over In the USA, yes he would be more popular with beating Canelo but he doesn't need him.

Canelo needs to man up or drop the belt.

Why don't they meet at 157? Why 155? Makes no sense.

Money wise I'm sure they would do just fine without each other. Why are so many people on this forum rooting for a fighters financial benefit?:huh

I think GGG backing the most popular in boxing into a corner to the point where he vacates instead of fighting GGG would be enough leverage to get BJS in the ring. BJS doesn't have the political or fan backing to delay the fight as long as Canelo has.

Then I don't think the fight happens if Canelo drops the belt and insist on 155. The 155 circus will dry up soon, then Canelo will create the 156 weight class

And for the record, what GGG said as far as 154-168 is just more talk from a fighter to be taken with a grain of salt. Want a list of other things fighters have said:

    Mayweather/Paq:
    "Retired. Last fight"
    I don't believe either one.

    Lewis:
"Sure I'll give him a rematch"

    Ward:
    "I'll fight at HW"
    "I'll fight Floyd at 160"

    Hopkins:
"No white fighter will ever beat me"

    Haye:
    "I hurt my pinkie toe"

That's just off the top of my head. Though not exact quotes you get my drift. Boxers in general say a lot of things to make headlines and attract attention.

I know it seems that legacy and history isn't important anymore.

Oh, all of a sudden the belt don't mean a thing to Canelo? And he feels the WBC is corrupt? HAHAHA yeah now that they gave him the ultimatum about fight GGG at 160 or be stripped!

Canelo needs to fight GGG at 160 at prove he is truly the middleweight champ he thinks he is.

Todos los campeones Mexicanos se amarran los huevos y le entran sin mariconiados, bueno todos menos este guey!

If Canelo really mean what he said about honor and pride he would fight GGG at the proper middleweight weight of 160, without bullsh!t stipulations and a 50/50 purse split.

That will never happen, not this year!

Canelo doesn't rave on about being the MW champ. He became a titlist by beating Cotto, a fight ALL fight fans were demanding.

The belt has never been the center of focus for Canelo.

Btw, you're a terrible business advisor and you should never give any business advice to anyone for their sake.

Notice the Canelo vs Khan fight was the only one that didn't show the fighters "fight night weight"?

Canelo weighs in about the same as GGG on fight night if not more. and he clearly had serious weight advantage against Amir.

In Mexico we call people like him "un aprovechado" a bully, who takes advantage of smaller guys... but will tip toe and beat around the bush if having to face someone his own size.

Don't kid yourself into thinking GGG is not doing the same("stacking the deck" in his favor) by sticking to the 160 stipulation.

    They're both doing the same.

This fight will not take place unless they both bend a little. 157 sounds about right.:deal

    Hmm..
Any quotes at the big ceremony when Canelo accepted the new WBC title belt...didn't he saying something about "fighting the best" and being a great MW champ.

Hell, not long after the WBC tweeted a pic of Monzon and Canelo as an "ATG mythical match up"

Canelo didn't show his fight night weight vs Cotto either.
