He gets knocked out next time. Bivol knows his power and will just apply more pressure sooner. He snapped so many combos on Canelos head it looked like Ryan Garcia hitting his cobra bag.

Good post. I do disagree that Canelo can't hurt him. A well placed punch from a professional fighter always has the potential. Canelo never had consistent success and by round 7 or 8 he was frustrated and getting tired as it looked like he was throwing heat with every shot. I think Canelo can certainly do better than he did in a rematch but not enough to win without maybe catching Bivol with an ear shot that throws off his equilibrium or something.

With a 2 corrupt judges, anything can happen. All Canelo has to do is last the distance and there is a chance of a robbery even if the fight is 12-0. They almost robbed Bivol last night after pitching a near shutout.

Only in boxing can we expect and accept this kind of corruption.

It's scary that alvarez just needs to tweak, slightly his gameplan to get 'the nod':duh

Good Lord!! Canelo won 3 rounds at best, all he did was plod forward throw an occasional wide hook that got blocked and eat jabs.

I went with 25% to 50% but only because I think the real chances are 25% to 33%.

You have to wonder how the negotiations would go for a rematch. Canelo is still the A side and can dictate any terms he wants. I don't think this win makes Bivol a star but a rematch is the best thing going for him financially. Next fight could be bigger. Canelo might decide 175 is too big and force him down.

What Canelo was not good at doing last night is creating openings. I think in the rematch he will do a little better instead of hitting the arms of Bivol which now he can understand was wasted shots. Canelo was not particularly good last night he looked like a neutralised unidimentional fighter, which of course he is not. The discipline and gameplan was the key factors for Bivol. Canelo can do better, the question is how much better and also will Bivol get better as well now that they know each others.

Canelo will bring something different in the rematch. But I still regret paying $80. The fight itself was not that great we could only enjoy watching a composed and disciplined Bivol block shots and be active enough to dominate the fight against clueless Canelo. Canelo team will readjust and make things a little more exciting for the rematch.

I think now that he’s been humbled he can win. He went through what every puncher eventually faces. He believed his own hype that all he needs is one punch to win, did he ever jab to move in? He kept looking for a ko like he did Plant, difference being Bivol had better defence, stamina and chin. If he works on coming in behind a jab he can get a win next time, that said I saw the same thing with Valdez last week so I wonder if Reynoso is not focusing on.

I don’t think he was the weaker man, the best punches were landed by Canelo it just wasn’t many.
