You gotta love the Canelo fanboys here. Canelo could never generate this type of money against anyone in his career besides Mayweather and he is offering Golovkin a flat fee? So, what happens if the PPV turns out wildly succesful? That screws Golovkin.

Basically: Canelo's team knows he's gonna lose. So they are lowballing Golovkin with a flat fee so he either refuses the fight or if he takes it Canelo's team makes out like bandits.

People are screaming: OH MY ITS 15M DOE!!!! Yeah, getting paid 15m for a fight that could generate 100m is not only idiotic but just disgraceful. If I paid you $10 an hour to be my lawyer, I think you wouldn't take that offer would you not? So, why would you get lowballed on a flat fee in a fight that could be one of the biggest of the decade?

    You're right, it's a disgrace.

10 million is way too much for golovkin.

Canelo vs A.N.Other = big PPV numbers
GGG vs A.N.Other = low PPV numbers

So who needs who? $15m is way more than GGG will ever make in any other viable fight. He should take it. If he's so confident of winning then bigger pay days (like a rematch, where he could call the financial shots) are just round the corner. Like Canelo did in taking the thin end of the wedge against Mayweather, GGG needs to speculate to accumulate. The only reason why he might choose to knock this deal back is if he isn't confident of victory. An interesting revelation of self-doubt....

Canelo didn't even make $15M when he fought Floyd and they sold over 2million ppv buys.

Canelo vs the old Kazakhstani won't do any where near 2 million buys.

    Canelo conceded weight as well

If you want the fight make the concession, they should just offer him 25%, that's a lot less than 15mill probably

Canelo got a flat fee for fighting Mayweather and this fight ain't cracking no 2.2 million PPV numbers. Golovkin is no McGregor. Canelo will be carrying the load of the fans, gate, and PPV sales. I think you guys have a non realistic view of boxing right now. Mayweather was it because he was famous outside of the ring. Canelo is the man on the west coast. Golovkin is popular with boxing fans but not enough of them because he has a boring personality. Casuals buy personality.

Jon Jones is the best fighter in the UFC but he will never sell what McGregor sells because of personality. Ronda Rousey is far from the best female fighter but her personality sells. GGG is a good fighter but he better just take the $15 million , like Mayweather took the $25 million and Pacquiao took the $8 million from ODLH.

I'm tired of hearing Canelo dictate terms. He is the lesser fighter with the bigger fan base, so he has leverage but let's make it reasonable and make this fight happen. GGG stops Canelo and Canelo knows this so he is looking for the biggest payday of his life since another one like it may not come around again.

$15M is less than double what he will make in his next fight, and then he would have to do significantly more press to hype this megafight.

Canelo would easily make 5x what he could against any other fighter.

15m is a number that is hard to walk away from. I'm sure Golovkin and his team would rather take the PPV split, but that 15 is a big number especially with the current state of boxing. It does show how much Oscar thinks this fight would sell though since 15 is a 50% increase from his previous number and he's still avoiding the split that GGG and his team want. I don't think this fight is going to generate 100m like people are claiming, but I'm not an expert on things like this.

15 million dollars and Golovkin is still ducking Canelo.

Kovalev came out and said that a 19 yr old Canelo was fighting on even terms with a physically prime Golovkin during a sparring he witnessed. Taking that into account and the fact that Canelo has clearly improved several aspects of his game, from Stamina to combination punching to becoming a master at setting up traps. On the other hand based on his last fight, Ggg gets hit more than ever at this stage of his career.

Cotto is far more popular than Golovkin, the Cotto-Canelo fight had been anticipated for at least a couple years before it materialized, and it didn't crack 1 million buys. I doubt Canelo-Ggg do more than a million.

I have two eyes, just like everyone else. Canelo is a good fighter, a decent banger, but I don't see him at the same level as GGG. That is my honest assessment. I just think GGG is a more powerful version of Canelo. I don't think Canelo can hang with GGG. GGG may get hit more but he carries more power and that should be the difference in the end.

And, as to the sparring sessions, that is not what I heard. I heard GGG schooled Canelo, which I think is why in large measure Canelo is so hesitant to fight GGG. He doesn't believe he can beat GGG.

You know more than Kovalev who seen them both upfront and close???

Then STFU with your bias nonsense.
