Canelo's Underrated Out-boxing Ability

    He fought with a lot of out-boxers or middle range fighters. Trout, Lara, Mayweather, Jacobs, Callum Smith, Saunders etc. He gonna fight another one who named Plant.

    The only fighter who out-boxed him was Mayweather. Trout, Jacobs, Saunders and Smith got beaten by clean power punches. They also did hit the air during entire fight. Lara landed mostly jabs on him, he rarely landed power punches and got beaten by body punches.

    I think his out-boxing and long range boxing is underrated. He can "box".

    If he landed so many body shots why did lara finish as strong as he started?
    Either
    A) he didnt land all those shots
    B) he has no power
    Or
    C) you got conditioned by the announcers

    By all he landed was jabs do you mean one twod him to death and made the night canelo bobblehead night. Look at both fighters body language at the bell in 12. Both fighters know who won that night.

    Lara fought to survive. The fight was not great, both fighters showed the worst of themselves, Lara by running, Canelo by not cutting off the ring against the runner. Canelo pressed the fight from round 4th on and landed all the best, most meaningful punches. Even split Lara's eye open, and I'm sure had him sore for days.

    This. Canelo walked into punches that night and didn't use his defense. He still won 8-4 despite his stupid strategy imo. Current Canelo is better ring cutter and body puncher. He also use his defense during his attack.

    Haters are one dimensional. They don't look fights with different angles.

    Lara sure did a lot of running that night. He fought well for the first 3 rounds, but then was on his bicycle for the remainder of the bout. A negative performance from both fighters, but Canelo was more effective.

    He did a lot more of it back when he was around guys his own size at JMW/Caneloweight, now he is mostly stuck pressuring except against BJS who has surprisingly short arms.

    Against Plant the size/length difference is going to look ridiculous, like it did when he fought Kovalev (who is not much larger than Plant) or Pac against Ugas.

    Rocky Fielding, Callum Smith, Sergey Kovalev have similar height with Plant. He did beat Smith and Fielding like a child. Kovalev out-jabbed Canelo but ate clean power punches until KO. Canelo's strategy is useful against tall guys.
