The Floyd era is over of ducking opponents for years to build it up. Public demands best vs best. If he doesn't fight him in 2017 I don't want the fight and his career is forever tarnished.

Hope you're right. Like I said the other day I just hope Canelo looks good in his next fight.

The time was ripe when Canelo had the belt and they were both in the ring post-Khan, the world was watching and the stage was set. Personally I think the opportunity for max interest has been lost forever at this point.

They don't love him, they just can't bring themselves to admit they were wrong.

They would shred any other fighter who behaved like Canelo did but if they shred Canelo it means the people who backed Golovkin in the whole saga were right and they can't accept that.

They were the ones who claimed Canelo not fighting Golovkin was a master business move and Golovkin would be fighting for peanuts, that theory didn't work out.

They were told Canelo would be fighting Smith, they told me I was talking complete rubbish and didn't know anything about boxing and shouldn't listen to Twitter rumours. I was proved right once again.

So they have to keep backing Canelo. Childish, petty and silly I know but it is what it is.

How was the time ripe? Canelo has never fought above 155. Canelo has never fought a real MW. Canelo has always said he was a Jr.MW. The MW title he got from the small Jr.MW Cotto was probably a mistake, they sholdn't have fought for the title, but nevertheless Canelo continues to be a Jr.MW when you consider he has never fought for a title over 155 against anyone who weighs more than 155.

The time is ripe when the hype for the fight is at a peak, so that both fighters can maximize earnings... I'm sorry that many fight fans have a difficult time understanding that boxing is a REAL-LIFE BUSINESS and not a game where two Gladiators-Slaves fight for our viewing pleasure..

And if you can't see how this fight is getting bigger everyday then you need to take a marketing class.

 I've been in finance and sales all my life. Seen plenty of deals lost because the window was allowed to pass.

As a boxing fan, I am less interested in this fight than I was when they were both standing in the ring after the Khan fight :|

Now Canelo is just some 55'er with no belt

It could be more hyped than it was then if Canelo and GGG both look great in their next two or three fights and Canelo actually beats Saunders for his title in good fashion. They could market the fight as a unifcation fight for the division
