If all this primadonna PPV garbage existed back in the day we may have never seen a Ray Leonard/Hagler
or a Roberto Duran/Hearns fight those guys fought for belts and legacies
I want to see the best of the best fight each other not who's got the biggest PPV numbers or the most fans , boxers avoiding each other because fighters have different network deals etc
The fact is Canelo wants GGG's belts and GGG brings in good PPV numbers with a fight against Canelo so ODH should meet the champ halfway and lets get it on.

 

If you were the A side, you would not relinquish an equal deal to a fighter that doesn’t come close to drawing as you. That’s common sense.

I tend to agree. He ****ed up his career because of the cheating ginger biscuit. He could have fought SD, Saunders and another guy in all the time that he waited around for Clenelo to cycle. He should have sewn up MW with Saunders' belt and dared Clenboy to come after him.

 

Sad that he's stripped and can say his goal of having all the belts goodbye.

Now of course we get the Canelovers spinning this like it's "exactly the same" as when Canelo dropped the WBC belt.

1. Canelo vacated because the pursebids were coming up after a extension and interim fight (Khan) were given, which is very different to being stripped because you can't get an extension.
2. Canelo shouldn't have had the WBC 160 belt in the first place, because Cotto had already vacated it in the week before they met, and Golovkin was the interim champion. Golovkin actually won his IBF belt and defended it.
3. The whole IBF situation happened because GBP/Alvarez didn't want Golovkin to have fights inbetween and then the rematch fell trough because Alvarez tested positive for Clenbuterol and had to pull out. The WBC situation happened because Alvarez pushed for an easy defence after first agreeing to terms that he would fight Golovkin straight after and then wanted to move the goalposts again after that fight.
4. Golovkin has multiple belts to defend, and with that Canelo mess inbetween he would lose at least one belt already when non of the orgs cuts him some slack.
Alvarez had one belt to defend, one that shouldn't have been in his posession actually, and he failed to do that.

All in all, no comparison at all.
