Yeah n how many times did we hear how Canelos a junior middleweight?
I totally get it though business wise this makes total sense if it's a big as Chavez snr says then Canelo could rake in pure money in 2017,would this allow him time to take on Saunders as well before GGG in sept as promised as that fight would need promoting?
Given that the high risk but massive potential reward is against Golovkin I can see why Canelo would want to rake in the money first against Chavez, thing could Chavez make weight, from weight perspective I like this from Canelo as it will be the first time he's ever fought anyone who's not been smaller than him and in this case Chavez is clearly the bigger guy by a big margin,I predict Chavez will quit halfway through as his is wont?

Kind of hard to shred Canelo for the 165 offer to Chavez when GGG did the exact same thing to Ward. Golovkin was trying to get fights with Froch and Chavez Jr and Kessler at 168, but Ward at 164. Why not Ward at 168? Simple. He was the highest risk and lowest reward. it is what it is. Yea ggg ducked Ward but that doesn't define his legacy. At least he never gave up his title to Ward without a fight. This is where Canelo looks a little worse, when they had titles in the same division and he just said "here"

I'm afraid you've been brainwashed by the demographic, the racist imbeciles who use the mantra that if you repeat the same pile of lies enough times people will start to believe it. The truth is as follows:

    1) For all the "Chinese whispers" the demographic have started regarding Golovkin "offering" fights to Froch/Chavez at 168 there is no credible evidence to support this theory. No fights with those parties ever occurred and Golovkin has still never fought above 160.

    2) Ward himself categorically offered to fight Mayweather at 160 and there is plenty of documented evidence of this. However, when it comes to GGG, the fight has to be at his weight (in addition to all the other dice he wanted loaded in his favour). Why? The same reasons you've mentioned above. GGG is high risk and low reward, Mayweather high risk but huge reward.

    3) Golovkin was the fighter who was willing to compromise by going to a catchweight in addition to fighting in Ward's home country. Ward wouldn't agree a fair shake and demanded he have the weight advantage as well. In addition, Ward wanted a 50/50 split (and probably four American officials like he got against Kovalev).

    4) you cannot accuse a fighter of "ducking" you when you are at different weights, from different countries and yet you are demanding the dice loaded in your favour in every possible way. To claim you are being ducked, you need to be willing to be the one to give some concessions. Golovkin has a history of doing this, he has fought in about 10 different countries. Ward has none, having been the only fighter to have all his super 6 fights at home, Dawson coming down from light heavy. Even when he fought Kovalev at 175 he had 3 tune up bouts first yet wanted Golovkin to come up to 168 without any prior fights there.

As you will see, it is clearly nonesense to suggest that when the two fighters are in the same boat, the fighter who was willing to compromise to get the fight made is "ducking" whilst the mummies boy who wants every conceivable advantage gets a free pass. If Golovkin offered Ward a fight at 160 in Karaganda with three Kazakh judges and Borat as the referee and rejected any attempt to negotiate a compromise, anyone who suggested Ward was ducking him would be laughed at, but this is the equivalent of the above statement.

It is comments like this that allow the slanderous lies peddled by the demographic to be perpetuated. Bottom line you can't blame any fighter for wanting a fair shake against Ward, ask Kovalev what happens when you fight him in the states.

Look dude. I'm a big GGG fan. I think he waxes everyone at 160 including Canelo. Just stating the truth re Ward situation. I CLEARLY remember the Froch and Chavez situations. And I clearly recall Loefller putting it out there "meet in the middle at 164" it is what it is. I can critique a fighter that I'm
A fan of without being brainwashed

Chavez is a corpse at 165 so even with a huge advantage in size, this fight is fairer.

GGG is used to boiling to 160lbs so it isn't so hard for him. Chavez Jr hasn't weighed 165 for years.
