    david higgins from DUCO promotions has offered a spot for alex leapai to fight chauncy welliver on the cameron undercard. leapai's management are super keen for the fight to go ahead.

    financially, its a sensible fight for NZ. with wellivers millions of followers over there, and a large samoan contingent living in nz, the fight will produce plenty of interest, both fighters will get plenty of support, resulting in many more tickets sold, and ppv subscriptions bought (if offered).


    lets see what comes from chauncys big fat mouth now that he has the chance to fight alex in his own backyard. chauncy wants to fight on this card, and now he has an serious opponent ready and willing.

    wellivers next statement will show how serious he is about fighting real opponents.

    First I've heard of this as we've been working on and accepted fighting Seth Mitchell. Got the final confirmation today. It's a go.
    The only offer we had was the McCall offer in NZ but was then offered Macao fight, then Mitchell fight. The offers kept trumping eachother as far as money went. Gotta go with the bigger money, bigger exposure, and the title eliminator.

    We shall see. If you don't believe about Mitchell fight, ask Danny Leigh, who Noel called begging for the Mitchell fight but Showtime said no as he was stopped by Johnson last time out. That, I know for a fact.

    Sally will dispute it, but it's true. Danny Leigh himself, a Golden Boy rep said Showtime said he needed to bury that loss with a few wins before trying Showtime out.

    So you're saying Noel never called asking for the fight?
    If Mitchell pulls out, its back to the drawing board on if we fight in Macau or NZ. Macao pays much more, so we'll see if NZ $ goes up.

    Danny Leigh helps put fights together for Golden Boy, who Mitchell fights for.
    & yes, I've agreed to fight the guy whos the "next thing" at heavyweight but scared to fight a Leapai. You're spot on. Got me there.

    But the other fella does raise a reasonable point when he asks if the Mitchell fight falls through would you accept a fight with Alex Leapai.
