Its been a good division for years, just often overlooked before the S6 created some hype

Froch vs Bute would be the most exciting...

I truly believe Bute is a good, but not elite fighter. He doesn't fight anyone of worth (which isn't really his fault with the super 6 going on). I think Froch and Ward beat him. Dirrell, if he's as good as he was against Abraham, would have a close toss up fight with Bute. Not sure with Martinez could be effective at Super Middle, but if he's as good as he is at Middleweight....Bute will get outboxed.

    The part I highlighted...
Butes resume isnt as bad as many would have you believe.
Ward only has one big win which was over an unwell double vision suffering version of Kessler. Other than that he hasnt done much either but just hyped because of the S6. Consider AA was coming off of 2 clear S6 losses and Green, well he had lost to Miranda and was blasted out in his next fight by old G Johnson who has a terrible SMW resume.

Bute beat Bika clearer than Ward, Miranda clearer than Ward, Andrade when he was #3 SMW, Berrio who had just KOd Steiglitz.
Magee who Bute beat is a more accomplished SMW than people like Dirrell, Bika and Green for example.

What Bute lacks is a name win, but he does have some wins over accomplished fighters and has an overall better resume than Ward

Aaaahhhh....finally someone with an eye for boxing talent. Yeah, Ward has Kessler, but it's like you said....that's tyhe only name better than Bute has, and it's not like Bute don't want Kessler...he offered him close to 3 million reasons to come to Montreal.

Thats right! Ward only has one good win and people go silly.
Look at the whole story and it paints a different picture

I agree Bute hasnt fought the top (Name) guys yet but look at resumes overall, I think Butes resume is above Wards. Ward is at this time living off of one win.

Bute beat Bika - better than Ward,
    Miranda - better than Ward,
Andrade twice, first time Andrade was #3 SMW
    Joppy,
Zuniga, better than Cloud and Cloud beating Zuniga has put him above Dawson in The Rings ratings
    Brinkley
Berrio - Holds a win over Steiglitz
Magee who was European champ and world rated fighter and now WBA INT SMW champ
    Mendy, undefeated

    Ward has beaten
Kessler - A very good win better than any name on Bute resume but remember that Kessler was an unwell double vision suffering fighter
    Miranda
Green - who lost to Miranda
    Bika
Abraham on a winning run of 1 injury victory and then 2 S6 losses the last being very decisive and who had said already that he is too small for SMW.

Now Wards victory over Kessler (even if he wasnt unwell) isnt better overall than Andrade 2, Berrio, Zuniga etc.
Remember that Cloud scoring a victory on points over Zuniga put him above Dawson in The Ring rankings.
Andrade was in the top 5 when Bute beat him and Bute beat Bika who you note years before Ward, so you could say Ward beat a post Bute Bika.
Magee is a more accomplished SMW than Green or Abraham

I don't think Sergio, or Bute for that matter, will ever show public interest for a mega fight between the two. Martinez was 147 - up to 160-ish, Bute is 168 - up to LHW probably in a couple of years. No go.

Bute vs Froch I'd like to see very much. If Froch can land the right often enough he'll wobble Bute no doubt. However if he gets countered with left hooks/uppercuts he'll get.. tested let's just put it that way.

Bute vs Dirrell is a Speed Kills fight. Stick & move, I can see Dirrell winning. I can also see a Bute KO if Dirrell is too ambitious in the number of punches he puts together (re: combos vs Froch) at the risk of Bute ducking or weaving and coming back with the left hand.

My wish list goes in this order, after he (most likely UDs) Johnson...
1- Bute vs Kessler (unification) - Spring 2012
    2- Bute vs S6 loser - Summer 2012
    3- Bute vs S6 winner (all 4 titles) - Fall/Winter 2012-13
