Can't wait for Lomachenko-Salido (odds too wide?)

This is the most exciting matchup in a long time. Lomachenko is being heralded as the aggressive power punching amateur superstar counterpart to Rigondeaux. He looked pretty good in his first pro fight given that hype, but he didn't look incredible. I feel like Lomachenko isn't the finished product everyone thinks he is, and he still has a lot to learn. You never stop learning in boxing, and even if you have 1,000 am fights, your style will change.

That being said I think Lomachenko beats Salido; either 5th round stoppage or UD. The odds on this one look a bit too wide with Lomachenko being a 5 to 1 favorite (Maidana-Broner anyone?).

It would be truly remarkable for Loma to win a belt in his 2nd fight, and then take out former prospect of the year Gary "trex arms" Russell in his 3rd fight.

I always root for am stars, so I'm a fan of Lomachenko. Really hope he wins as he's setting a great example about how to be an ambitious boxer who takes a chance at greatness instead of another rotting prospect.

Lomo certainly has a lot to learn. That said, he's also an extraordinary blend of world class athleticism and elite level technical skills.

    Lomo outboxes and stops Salido.

Salido seems to be much more powerful boxer, an experience puncher, whose stamina is also alright.
Loma is a counter puncher. During his first pro fighter his coach (his father) told him in the corner to let Ramirez beat the air. The same might be dangerous against Salido.
So in worst case scenario it might be an early stoppage by Salido, but I believe Loma can go a full distance and win each round of the fight. His stamina is known to be good but I don't see him knocking Salido out.
