    Why's that?

While I rarely put credence into "x is smaller than y" arguments in boxing, the fact is that both Marquez is smaller than Floyd, AND Floyd is the superior fighter. What can Marquez do to win rounds against this?

If Marquez pushes the issue, Floyd counters him onto the canvas. If he sits back, Floyd leads and takes the fight that way. Either way I don't see Marquez finding a way to win rounds, much less the fight.

I'm a big JMM fan, but he's going to get the **** kicked out of him at 147. He's small as a LW. WW is ridiculous. His corner will throw in the towel by the 7th.

Floyd should win and is supposed to.
That being said i find it surprising that a lot of people are saying PBF will destroy JMM.
Since when JMM gets easily beat?:huh
Since when PBF is a destroyer??:huh
I anticipate a win on points for Mayweather. But i think it'll be tougher than most of you guys think.

I think most want to see that happen just for him picking on the little guy. Marquez can pull this off.

But face it. Even with the two very good wins at lightweight Marquez did not look at his very best. He seemed to have somewhat struggled going up in weight. He seems to be as or more powerful, still throws beautiful combos. But his legs didn't look the same.

And if Mayweather wins he beat a smaller man and it doesn't count despite your obvious prediction, right?

I hope so, it would be great to marquez as the guy to beat!!

JMM at this stage has been thru too many big battles... all the wear and tear plus age, plus going up 2 weight classes (where he has never been before) will prove detrimental and not because Floyd will stand and trade with JMM but because Floyd is at his prime and runs faster than the Road Runner. Floyd will win via pot shots and running like a motha phoka!

less than 1 and half weight classes.

    7lbs.

Im also willing to bet Floyd will weigh the same or less than Marquez come fight time.

I think you are underestimating marquez ability to hang with mayweather. At least i hope you are!! Freddie Roach reckons its a hard comeback fight for mayweather. I just hope that marquez hasn't got old overnight.

:patsch So every fighter that uses lateral movement is now a runner or does this rule apply to Floyd only?

You're comparing 2 different fighters. Floyd is a defensive fighter and a differenet type of matchup all around. His strenghts are different from Pacquiao's, it's not only about the speed. You should watch some more film on Floyd to really see how Marquez really matches up. Which isn't very good. Marquez only chance to really win this fight is if Floyd is extremely rusty from the layoff. Which I don't really see happening.

FMJr has a lot more pop then people give him credit for just because he doesn't go out and slug, if he can get some solid counter in on JMM coming in I'd like to see how JMM handles them. What I like about JMM is that even though he has a tendency to let his Mexican side come out after taking a punch he's still extremely accurate and composed during close exchanges.
I imagine this fight with be very interesting from opening to closing bell with FMJr having having a large edge in the fight, he's bigger, he has reach, he has speed and he will be in a defensive/countering posture(btw, I would love to see JMM force FMJr to have to walk him down) which works against JMM.

"Mayweather runs, it's not lateral movement"
