No one claims he is the second coming. Anyone with one iota of boxing knowledge will agree that Gennady Golovkin is the BEST 160 pound middleweight in the world today. No one else comes close not even at 168 limit
    BTW Who is Junior ?????????:think

Sure. You could say both Taylor and Calzaghe lost to Hopkins. And you could say their wins were "political." But, they were both close, competitive fights, which Hopkins took an 'L' in. However, my point about JT was that he shared the ring with an ATG in Hopkins. The caliber of opponent(s) just doesn't exist for GGG at MW right now.

You idiot. Jacobs has the WBA kiddie belt. GGG doesn't need to unify with him.

Me too. He has ibo ibf and wba

In 45 days he should add wbc to that aND offer BJs a fight in UK

Then we watch canelo twist and turn in his own weight limbo, with no belts and a reputation of a ducker. A guy coming in at 175 should not be fighting at 155

15-0-0-0 (KO 15) Title defenses is impressive

He needs to focus on Wade, before he thinks about unifying anything...Wade is his first Undefeated Title Challenger, so its a very dangerous fight :smoke

He clearly beat Hopkins in the first fight.

Watch a tape of that fight Watch Taylor & Di Bella's faces at final bell they KNEW they lost The look of surprise on both faces speaks volumes. Second fight was closer but B Hop still won.

Soon? Is 6 years soon? He's 33, soon to be 34, according to boxrec. Is he older than many of the contenders ? Yes, but he's not even half way in his 4th decade yet..

All that being said, I think golovkin believes that he will see Canelo at 160 sooner or later. 155 isn't an official weight limit with a sanctioned belt. And while the belts don't mean everything they still mean something.

Hopkins was doing his thing in the middleweight division and had a title for sometime, but it wasn't until Trinidad moved up, that hopkins got a career defining victory to that point. A positioned he secured by having a title in the first place.

Canelo is a young and growing fighter. If history is any guide he'll outgrow caneloweight sooner or later and be at 160. And when he does, golovkin wants to position himself to be THE man waiting for him. Assuming they both continue their winning ways, the fight will be even bigger than it is now.
