You all post on a boxing message board. That should mean you're a fan of the sport. Be a fan of the sport and of fighters. But enough already of this this nationalistic bull****. It's played out. atsch
And I wish people will stop being so damn ethnocentric as well. I guess its too easy to root for fighters based on race and location than actual skill set and personal style preference:-(
I was just about to make one of these of my own...it's getting pretty ****in lame here with the immaturity displayed. Seems more then half the posters are nothing more then trolls bent on talking ****. It's no wonder so many good posters stop coming here.
As an American I have never once thought ill of European fighters, or hoped they would get beaten by US fighters (Except perhaps in the Olympics). I choose fighters based upon style, personality and the excitement he brings to fights. Not where he's from. When people starting defending their fighters and using words like "you yanks," it feels totally alien to me. Like I stepped in the middle of a nationalistic battle I was never aware of.
I'm American and we didn't mind it when the American fighters were dominating so I have no problem with them giving to us a bit. The thing is, most of that **** is aimed at the younger dumber annoying fanboys and not at all Americans so I wouldn't let it bother you.
Well said, I was thinking of making a post along the same lines. What happened to just being a fan of the sport? It's embarrasing. I have my favourites I route for, some influenced by nationality but I could become a fan of the other guy over the course of a fight.
**** you Yank. THERES ONLY OOOONNNNNEEE Ricky Hatton, baby, and Malifaggi is going to get caught up in a Hatton Wonderland very soon. Long live Manchester. :good :blurp
Let them have some fun, who do they have to brag about exactly?, Lewis and Calzaghe. Anyone else?, you feel sorry for these people than argue with them to be honest.
