My problem is it just dilutes the good stuff on the forums. There's some smart fans who post on here, and some guys who really know there ****.. (like Sweat Pea).. but it get's lost in the sea of fanboy nationalistic bull**** and fans who only spout **** about 1 or 2 fighters. Would love to have some strict mods on here who kept **** to focused discussions and silenced the trolls.
yea i would say england probaly won but we won the biggest battle but they dont talk about that war much in america thats how you know we lost
My view is that it goes two ways. Some American fans can't see outside the states, which is kind of sad. But some european fans can't handle any criticism of European fighters. The Calzaghe flame war is a good example of both types of fans. Some American fans fail to recognize that Calzaghe has any skill at all and he is too protected in Europe, while British fans have dismissed any critique of Calzaghes former opponents. The truth as always is planted in between. Calzaghe is a good fighter. He has beaten at least tree top fighters in Lazy, Kessler and Hopkins. But besides that you could argue that some of his opponents lack fibre. Besides that I think yesterdays fight showed two things. Roy Jones should end his career before he gets a serious damage, and Calzaghe should continue fighting the top boxers out there.
After this fight, we can no longer ignore Calz greatness. All of us should salute Joe. I'm officially putting to rest what little animosity I harbored for the Brits.
Actually, if the nuthuggers ACTUALLY read the posts by the knowledgable fans on ESB they'd know that noone outside of the trolls are saying Joe is a **** fighter.
no its a draw, U.S didnt take any of the canadien territories and the UK had intentions of taking back the colonies which it couldnt, if we had lost the battle of Orleans no way would the UK had kept its word on treaty of Ghent 1-0-1 it is what it is
It seems Joe's gonna hafta convince Dr. Banner to get in the ring, smack him upside the head, let him transform into The Hulk and whip his ass before they acknowledge his worth. LOL. Sad, rilly.
As a Brit I can tell you that unfortuneatly after Hatton and Calzaghe have retired there won't be much for us to have a pop at you with. Froch is 30+ and Haye is a chinny heavyweight, after those guys we really don't have anyone on the domestic scence who can take that next step up.
