Maybe they were somewhat jealous of his abilities or just didn't like speedy hit and not be hit style
Camacho was a very good fighter with very fast hands but I don't think anyone can deny that he was rather odd: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGwoGFeZhYE[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fRLZ-XSOXM[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLdgYjvJV_k[/ame]
Camacho proved his manhood. IMO, by withstanding 12 rounds of torture by JCC. In that fight he atoned for all the safety first fights he ever had.
I just think they are better. BTW, if you combined Ruben Olivares and Miguel Canto there'd be nothing to be jealous about!
He had great personality to go with that speed, though I think Howard Davis Jr was at the least his equal in speed.
Camacho lost to Chavez and to the scales in 1992......... 140 was way too low in '92 for Camacho........... Camacho was 148 for a fight on HBO just a month earlier to tune-up for Chavez........ Camacho claimed he was using diet pills and laxatives to crap 3X a day to make 140 for the Chavez PPV fight....... Now Camacho was simply past his best when he fought and was schooled by a much younger and bigger Trinidad in 1994............ Trinidad just had too much of an advantage on Camacho................. In 1997, more of the same for Camacho against a primed DLH.......... DLH too young, good and powerful at 147 pounds in 1997............ BUT!! Camacho ate all the leather and took his lumps like a man..... He has a chin........ MR.BILL
