Caparello v muriqi on FNF main event

Atlas did his best to compliment him (though I think it was more a matter of Atlas having some bias that was really naught to do with Blake, due to having coached Muriqi and parted ways years ago; he always seems to end on sour notes with fighters...) and note how difficult stepping a guy up can be in the shallow talent pool down under, but yeah, I don't think most folks will be clamoring to see more of him any time soon...at least not with anybody so one-gear as Muriqi.

Billy Dib has near 40 fights and has fought 3-4 quality opponents,lost to 2 of them convincingly.

WIld Will,going in the right direction now after the victory of the South African.

But you have Pitt,Fleming,Brunker,Aloua etc etc just not interested in stepping it up

 

Teddy Atlas ruined Muriqi..............Atlas was awful with Grant, then predicted that his fighter Kirk Johnson would knock Vitali Klitschko out with one punch. Vitali knocked Atlas' fighter Johnson out in the second round at Madison Square Garden, New York, NY USA with a sold out crowd during a huge snow storm. Atlas is a failure as a trainer.............

 

Good technical boxer Caparello. Has subtleties most other light heavyweights don't. He is one of our better chances to win a world title and Dibella could land him that chance.

 

Yep. Great footwork, comes at you from all angles and defensively he is streaks ahead of most Aussie boxers, uses the shoulder roll well. If only he had some pop in his punches...

It's a real pity some people just want to see guys knock opponents out and don't have any appreciation for boxing skills.

 

Yeah, it was a painful styles clash.

Muriqi is a very bland fighter, the sort who reflects and magnifies whatever is put opposite him. In this case, the ugly effectiveness of Caparello.

Blake vs. Allan Green was better to watch, oddly enough, since Green himself is rather boring. (more so than Muriqi on the whole, I'd say, despite being a 'puncher')

On his best night he will probably never be a showstopping attraction, but with a suitable dance partner they don't all have to be quite as dull as Caparello vs. Muriqi was. Well-meaning but unfortunate choice for his American TV debut.

 

Uh, well, Mayweather or Rigondeaux he isn't. :yep

He does have boxing skills, but there is no denying they aren't the prettiest.

There's hardly a black and white divide between wanting to see rock 'em sock 'em robots and wanting to see cleaner and more engaging work than what Blake put in on FNF. (though it was effective on the night, got the job done and yes that is at the end of the day what matters)

 

Muriqi reportedly announced his retirement after the fight. [espn]
He was marginally better than Allen Green who put in a pathetic effort
against Blake in his previous fight.
Physically Caparello looked in great shape. He has bulked up quite a bit in recent times.
The Kosovo Kid fought at a robotic pace but Blake wasn't able to put him in any real danger.
Insomniacs should watch the full fight replay, it was a snoozefest.

Will be interesting to see who Blake's team select as his next opponent.

Funny enough, it was Green's relative lack of effort compared with Muriqi that made his defeat easier on the eyes. Basically it allowed Caparello to show off a bit, wailing on a dispassionate and barely awake Green. He needed to keep on his toes and mind his P's and Q's with Muriqi, so there was no styling as he did on Green - but Muriqi was only able to push him that far, not enough to make a real battle of it.

It was sort of the difference between a somewhat pretty girl and her complete horror show of a friend (on paper, Green is a nicer looking scalp than Muriqi even though on the night Muriqi fought tenfold harder and put him to shame) - the former of whom is a terrible dead-fish lay but at least provides you some eye candy as you essentially masturbate yourself inside her while the latter screws like her life depended on it and has the grip of a Koi fish on human growth hormone...but requires a paper bag over the head for you to even maintain.

To be fair, though, Muriqi could well have stuck around the whole night even if Caparello had turned it up a notch. Caparello has skills but no devastating power that I can tell, and Muriqi - despite what his bitter former coach Atlas says - has a well-documented sturdy beard.

I think it sort of was just what it was; Blake didn't so much drop the ball once the bell rang as the damage had been done in the matchmaking stage long before that. It probably seemed like a good idea at the time ("Hey, this Muriqi comes forward and can take a licking, has a fair gas tank, but not super dangerous...what could possibly go wrong? Perfect choice for anybody to shine against, right?" Wrong. Style clashes are tricky like that...)

 

blake wont change his style and go for the kill, domestically he hasnt been able to do it, he has no chance when it comes to the internation stage of going for it. It definately will keep him off main stream exposure, he is good but very boring
