Met Cardle years ago as an amateur. An absolute gentleman, very polite and friendly. As a pro he was not good enough to implement the style in which he tried to box. With better guidance, training and tactics he could have been so much more effective.
Their styles never matched in the first place. I always found Cardle arrogant and I agree that he has probably peaked. I also didn’t like his forced style. Too much head movement. Ironic since most Gallagher fighters have too little head movement. However I have great respect for the way he fought Ritson. He knew the power was too much so tried to spring a surprise and fought fire with fire. Was a great first round.
The lads finished been in too many tough fights he's had the granny punched out of him ,no point in him taken more damage won't achieve much more from the sport.
Cradle got up everyone's noses with his arrogance after the first dodd fight and ever since most of is have been hoping for him to get beat. Has as been mentioned, his style would of been better suited under a different trainer than Joe.G. and may of got further had he been with the right coach to suit his style. Good luck to him, tho he's been in some good nights.
He may have got bingo'd in the 2nd round but Cardle also went up in my estimation the way he came out firing against Ritson.
Cardle got carried away with the success of his stablemates a couple of years ago and deluded himself that he was beyond British level when he clearly was not. He doesnt sell tickets, is on a downward spiral, doubt he will fight much more as a Matchroom fighter. Surprised he never went with Billy Nelson as i know him and his family are pally with Billy.
