The scenario is that you are going to travel back in time and advise the great champions of the past what fights to take in order to improve their standing today.

You will advise them in terms of improving their legacy, and they are free to take or leave your advice.

What would be your advice for:

    Jeffries

    Johnson

    Dempsey

    Another of your choice

Id go back and tell Tyson not to take the Douglas and Holyfield fights. Id also tell him not to take Miss Washington to his room, no matter how late it is and no matter much shes gagging for it

Jeffries: Stay retired, and don't fight Johnson.

Johnson: Keep lower profile with them white women.

Dempsey: Fight Wills. Defend your title atleast once a year.

Schmeling: (in 1933) Get your family out of Germany and take U.S citizenship.

Gene Tunney: don't retire until you've fought and beaten both Max Schmeling and Jack sharkey.

I would tell him not to fight those 2 because hes not ready in current state

Even if i went back in a time machine and told Tyson about Don King, Robin Givens, Kevin Rooney....he wouldnt listen

Schmeling likely would have gotten the title shot with Braddock and would have been the first man to regain the title. The Nazis would have probably still used that as a propaganda tool for Aryan...make that German supremacy.

    How about Jack Dempsey:
Dont take the dive, it isnt worth it.

    Tommy Burns:
Maybe the colour line might not hurt so much.

    Harry Greb.
How about putting a few of your filmed archives in a safe place.

    John L Sullivan
Arrange for a few filmed exhibitions, particularly the McCormick fight.

    Sonny Liston
Duck Ali for a while longer.

Muhammed Ali/George Foreman - How about finding a different Promoter.

I would've told Jeffries to fight Johnson while he was still in his prime...or near it anyway. I would've told Dempsey to fight Wills and to stay active, to get the hell out of Hollywood and Greb to make sure many of his fights were filmed for Chrissakes!

I wouldn't say a single word to them.I would listen to what they had to say,and that's what no one did.
