wlad ruined a lot of fighters, byrd, brock, ibragimov, austin, chagaev, peter, schulz, chambers and he will ruin chisora, povetkin and haye and adamek, because of his style, the way he dominates them and knock them out in the end after showing them you can't beat me
Rumor has it the public who watched Jimmy Young is never quite the same, either I can appreciate him, though.
Tua was hyped up too much and Tyson was a shell of himself and didn't accomplish much of anything after losing to Holyfield. You could make a case that Holyfield ruined Tyson more than Lewis ruining him but imo Tyson & his problems ruined him more than anyone in the ring did. You could also make a case for Holyfield being ruined by Lewis.
Tarver has Roy Jones, Chris Johnson, Lincoln Carter, and, to a lesser extent, Eric Harding to his credit
Tua was obese @ 245lbs - BUT still a H2H MONSTER, cos Xperts at Ring mag gave him a Better chance VS Lennox in 2000. This content is protected 2000 Tua DESTROYS 2000 Tyson This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected Lewis did RUIN Tyson in 2002 [teh same Tyson who beat Andy Golota in 2000!!] - he "DESTROYED teh myth of Tyson, once And for all" - Lewis: Beyond the Glory. I AGREE Lenny Lewis ruined Old Holyfeild - he looked as-good-as he did in 1996 in 1999, BUT in 2000 he was SHOT And needed a GIFT to beat Johnny Ruiz. :deal
Bummy Davies your comments on Rocky are wide of the mark. Walcott was 39, Charles was 33 and been beaten 5 times since 1950, he had lost two on the trot when rocky fought him. Don Cockell, Roland LaStarza were iffy choices for title contenders. Beating old light heavies on the way down is not a sign of greatness for a heavyweight champion. I doubt Rocky would have beaten Floyd Patterson give their showing against Archie Moore. Rocky's below Floyd on my heavyweight list.
Your post is so ill-informed that even for a troll you have little credibility. But if you believe Patterson is more accomplished than Marciano, more power to you. :good
Tyson was a shell of himself and fighting for money at that time. His best bet was to hype the fight up and few did that as well as him. After that it was Lewis' fight for the taking and he beat the crap outta Tyson. I don't know how Mike stood up to those bombs but he did what a great chin. Tua had his shot against Byrd and blew that too. He was hyped up and the best thing going for him was his power. Lewis toke clean shots from TuadealPeople forget this) then outboxed the crap outta him weight problem or not. Lewis was doing his job I give him full credit for the Tua win. Lewis did beat a shot Tyson and that's one of his best wins:deal. I don't know who wins in a '00 Tua vs '00 Tyson matchup but I agree with what you said on Holyfield as much as I hate to admit it.
Agreed turpinr...you could also say MMH ruined the likes of Watts, Monroe, Colbert, Seales and Hart... When I saw the title of this thread the first names I thought of were Marciano & Hagler... If you were to narrow it down to individual fights, fights that were allowed to go on too long (i.e. when it was clear who was going to win and the loser was just beung hurt and/or outclassed), I thought at the time that the Mike McCallum - Michael Watson fight was allowed to go on far, far too long...I thought the fight should have been stopped around the 8th round - it was obvious Watson could not win, McCallum was too smart and canny, and he was hitting Watson with too many clean shots, not kayo shots, but an accumulation. The brave Watson should have been spared unnecessary punishment. I have often wondered if that fight was a contributary factor to the tragedy that befell Watson against Eubank?
Do you ever intend to make a post that is not a poorly researched attack on Rocky Marciano? There have in fact been many other fighters.
