former WBO feather champ Steve Robinson deserves a mention in this bracket he was something like 13-8-1 when he came in at very short notice to take the vacant tittle against John Davison in Davison's home town . He then went on to defend his tittle i think seven times including wins over Paul Hodkinson,Colin Mcmillan and Duke Mckenzie eventually losing his tittle to Hamed.losing only one (billy Hardy) and drawing one(Welcome Ncita) of his next i think 12 fights .His career career then took a nose dive after making 2 succesful defennses of the european featherweight tittle he lost his last six straight between 2000-2002
Kelvin Seabrooks: Finished 1985 a 18-13 Journeyman Bantamweight. But by February 1988 was an alphabet title holder, with three successful defences, and only lost the crown to someone as good as Orlando Canizales.
Max Schmeling after his losses to Hamas and Baer and that "draw" against Uzcudun was considered done. Then he beat Joe Louis.
Lennox Lewis went from being a laughing stock after McCall ,especially in the US ,to slowly build up his reputation to end up universally respected and in most peoples top 10 HW's ( or higher ) of all time.
'in most peoples top 10 HW's ( or higher ) of all time'. Some praise indeed if he is higher than the top 10 of all time!
Well thats subjective, regardless most people have him inside their top 10. Although not a top pick one that came to mind was Jorge Arce, currently I'd say he is one of the most exciting and watchable fighters on the planet. A long way from going 20-3-1 being stopped in his homtown by Carbajal.
