I think it's a decent choice although not mine. He had too much trouble with Quigg in my book and then there's the whole Rigo thing...

Solid choice. Personally I had Lomachenko ahead of him. But it's s fair selection. I don't put much faith in espn choices anyway.

Rigo is not involved at featherweight.

Ducked rigo in order to gain this accolade
No stones left unturned I'm afraid he could not turn the biggest stone over

Did a great job on quigg but seriously quigg is barely fringe world level and was killing himself making lower weight

i think frampton lost to LSC and was given a very generous decision, he also ducked rigo, so i obviously disagree with him getting the award. should of gone to loma for me...

The sad truth about Rigo and Lara is that they have zero fan base and a boring style. Yet both are highly skilled. So a high risk low reward fight.

Instead of having a go at people for not fighting them maybe it's time for them to change their fighting style.

Juan Manuel Marquez did...And he didn't have a bad career and made multi mils...

Makes sense. What I don't get is why the BWAA is accepting votes on this years awards almost into February with the ceremony in March or some such nonsense. Why not have the end of year awards at the beginning of the year? Are there just so many boxing writers out there that it takes months for them all to vote and then tally the results? Da fuq?

I'm glad he won but I am kind of shocked the shills didn't hand it to Ward. I'm sure Ward is in the fetal position whining about in Oakland.

The Scene also picks Carl Frampton as FIGHTER OF THE YEAR!!!!

HBO'S The Fight Game gives Vasyl Lomachenko FIGHTER OF THE YEAR!!

Those were my top 2 choices.
