I don't think it was anything to do with quigg saying he wasn't ready I think it was agreed between camps that the fight would be a big money spinner if they both had world titles on the line but then framptons team kept trying to publicise the fight not being agreed as if quigg was dodging it.then wa***n made an offer which was turned down and that's pretty much where it is right now. The common sense thing to do would be for quigg to beat salinas, frampton to beat Romero then the two fight and the winner to fight rigo

That is the real reason the fight is worth bigger money next year just because hatton waffled a load of trousers doesn't mean what he said is the truth him saying quigg wasn't ready could imply many things and is a vague statement for example he isn't ready to fight on someone else's terms doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't think he could beat him

 

It didnt even get to terms, Quigg said no when mentioned so terms never came into it if we go by what Hatton has said. Thing is Ricky has been pretty straight in the past with people, why lie now?

They offered him loads of options but he didnt want to know, again why say this if not true? he doesnt need to make a statement at all about it.

Im more inclined to believe a guy who has history for being up front and honest in the boxing world than rumours or opinions on a forum where for the most part they actually 'know' not a lot.

If Ricky had made a statement to 'save face' as it were, going by past experience i believe he would have said 'It didnt work out and we went different ways' seems to me he wanted the record straight.

No one is denying quigg turned down frampton the debate is why he did it. No one is denying that he wasn't offered loads of options but if those options aren't the right ones for your career then you arent going to take them. Choosing not to go to America and fight or not fighting frampton on framptons terms doesn't mean he wouldn't be confident in winning and the fact is when hatton lost his comeback fight and his deal with sky the wheels fell off his promotions company and to me it looks like quigg was sidelined and they tried to fob him off with fights in America or a fight on a Hearn show due to their lack of dates. Just the same as they threw crolla in prizefighter when it was a terrible move for his career but there was nothing else on the table as they had no dates. Where's Martin Murray disappeared to? Didn't math askin leave hatton promotions? Has crolla re signed now his contract is up? They can only provide the small fighters small hall shows due to lack of tv it's only now box nation have come along they might scrape through
