Don't think it will happen. The frampton camp have said there is nothing to gain from the fight which I read as they know they will lose an ugly fight as Rigo stays on the back foot.

OHHHHHHHHH YESSSSSSSSSS. Really like Frampton but i like Boxing more and i know Carl doesnt fancy this one. this fight really should be happening. I just hope right now isnt the time for Frampton to declare he is moving up a weight division.

I really dont know who would win, gut feeling is Rigo but its not usually a very accurate gut i have.

    Fight will not happen.

Barry already said his boy will drop the belt instead of fighting negative and inactive Rigondeaux

Amagasa took Rigo's soul. Rigo looked like kangaroo turd in his last fight against Drian.

Frampton surrenders the title and runs in fear.

    O ye of little faith.

I think it may happen. What has Frampton to lose? (I mean besides his zero and the world title belt).

He's 29, bang in his prime, long future ahead of him (and Rigondeaux is old enough that he won't be an option forever..) and he'll gain widespread respect and kudos for stepping up even if he loses, which is an eventuality he can easily rebound from. And he gets paid. And builds his profile on US TV.

Rigo wide UD or possible late rounds stoppage.

Well, there's the more winnable and more profitable Santa Cruz fight and he'll still have the IBF title so It's really hard for me to believe Hearn will put him in with Rigo. :conf

Barry says otherwise. His quote is on the BBC website

Frampton's manager Barry McGuigan has consistently ruled out the Cuban as a possible opponent for his fighter.

"He's amazing on the back foot but he's negative," McGuigan said of Rigondeaux, who fights Briton Jazza ****ens in Liverpool on 12 March.

"What do we gain by fighting him?"

Oh, and if Frampton pulls it off? Whoa. That's a long vault into the p4p rankings.

Yeah but a tango requires two and why do we think Haymon is willing to put his two moneymakers at 122 and 126 in a ring together when he could just keep milking both as undefeated champions separately?
