The arguable shortcomings of Framptons opponent is neither here nor there, Cazares is ranked #1 by the WBC and a win will put him in with a big fight against Santa Cruz.

Two Thousand of the tickets sold in the first 30 mins earlier for this fight, should be another atmospheric night in Belfast, looking forward to it.

Yes and despite all of Quigg's varied options he still fought a guy ranked 88th for a first defense of a fake world title, Frampton has still beaten KIKO a guy miles better then anything Quigg has beaten. Also Gallagher said after the last fight they had moved on from Frampton, doesn't sound like a team aching to fight Carl to me.

Solinas would beat kiko he would box his head off. And kiko lost to Monroe so not really a fair argument about quiggs resume. They have both boxed 1 top ten ranked fighter. This fight makes sense for frampton to secure a fight with Santa Cruz however who can blame Barry for milking the fact that people will turn out in their thousands to watch frampton even if he's boxing average opponents. It's all about the money

Cazares is better than average, he is a two weight world champion who has had just as many world title fights as Frampton has had fights. Yeah he is 35 and he started as a light-flyweight, but he has win his last five fights at super-bantamweight.

ummmmm Frampton said on Ringside since they couldn't get Kiko so they were dropping the IBF route and going for Santa Cruz and the WBC, Cazares is number 1 with the WBC and the winner of this fight gets Santa Cruz

I think that kind of ends the argument right there, but it's pretty obvious you're just trolling anyway (at least I hope so)

Em, Felix Sturm is a middleweight!

I was pointing out that (and it seems I'm going to have to make it clearer for you) in the lighter weight divisions the older you get the tougher it is to keep down to that weight.

I guess it's all rlevant to height / weight etc.

Thanks for your help though much appreciated. :good

Salinas' record is dreadful and he got a lucky draw against Quigg, Kiko would walk him down with ease

Don't know where the hell Salinas gets this hype from yet we are actually sitting here arguing wether Frampton and Quigg are world class when they have FAR better formline than Salinas who is DEFINATELY world class according to most on here

Oh I get it, its because he's slick and Cuban right? he MUST be world class, the only two recognisable names he's faced he has scraped a draw both times, what makes him such a world class force who is going to box the head off Kiko? Kikos last two fights > Salinas entire record

LSC highly unlikely to travel to Belfast, Rigo is a different story. His manager, Gary Hyde is from Cork and has said a fight in Belfast is there if they want it. Rigo fought Willie Casey in a WBA interim fight in Dublin a few years back. If Frampton v Rigo is ever made, would nearly put my house on it being held in Belfast

Where is your evidence LsC is refusing to come to Belfast. Are you just assuming that he won't?
He may not , but let's not ASSUME he won't.
Lots of factors will influence this. Offer a man enough dough and he will go anywhere. Then there is the role of US TV. They will have to be sufficiently impressed with belfast as a venue etc, the unique atmosphere, etc

This is where it gets tricky...the TV angle.
Frampton in a way is under a lot of pressure against Cazares, not just to win, but to look sufficiently hot in front of his home fans to persuade US TV that Belfast is viable.

But one huge piece of the puzzle is in place....LSC actively WANTS to fight Frampton, he has said so repeatedly with conviction.

Santa Cruz recently said he didn't know much about either quigg or frampton it would be a lot more difficult to make in Belfast than rigo bit let's face it they can put frampton in with rigo in carls front room and he still wouldn't stand a chance. He could have fought kiko he was offered an eliminator it would have made much more sense to take that and fight kiko who he has beaten once than to go for Santa Cruz which will be harder to make in Belfast and a much tougher fight in general

IDK LSC could travel but the money would have to be big to get him over, depends on the possibilities in America, i mean would Showtime and GB make that a headline fight or an undercard for a PPV. If they did either of these Frampton would be financially better off and from an exposure point of view to go the the US, but it would be dumb to have that fight on an under card of a regualr Showtime card in that situation Belfast makes most sense. Frampton vs LSC should be a big fight wherever it's held.

There is a first for everything I suppose, accusing me of trolling is sensationally naive or incredibly intelligent, the latter I think ;)

Look, we have our opinions on Frampton, mine is he is selectively carving out his career under the watchful eye of his manager, who's kind of been there before, however; my beef with Frampton is that he is being too selective if there is such thing.

The Scott Quigg fight can be made, so for God's sake make it!, yes it takes 2 to tango and Quigg / Hearn / Hatton are not getting away scott free. Hearn is a lot more proactive than Frank in taking a risk (probably why McGuigan and Frampton dumped him ) with his fighters, and he is more likely to be a driving force than a road block in getting it done.

Assessing his ability; Frampton is tight at the weight, and it will catch him out, he's too inactive, which will also catch him out. He's a back foot, same time puncher with excellent reflexes and big power. He's reasonably well rounded. His ring craft is where he is lacking, his output is low, and he's too big for the weight.

Which is why I believe Santa Cruz beats him up, Frampton won't like the pace and Santa Cruz sets and he will walk through anybody in the world who boxes exclusively off the back foot, Frampton being tight at the weight will be exposed against a good sized SBW with a phenomenal engine, for almost the same reasons (even though I don't place Quigg in the same bracket as LSC) I have Quigg wearing Frampton down and forcing a stoppage late on.

    My humble opinions …….. :good
