Carl Frampton vs Hugo Cazares Set For April 4th

I agree lsc and quigg both beat him. It's good to have the odd easier fight, these guys earn that right but I want to see quigg and frampton fighting each other or top ten ranked fighters

 

You obviously have no knowledge of Hugo Cazares then?

I just don't see it that way. When you see McGuigan talk about Frampton, and can he talk, he is passionate about the fighter. I know his son trains him but I don't believe it's all about the money.

I really think he cares about Frampton like he's one of the family and wants to see him win the world championship, despite the money.

 

No, no and no

McGuigan is there to ensure Frampton gets his dues financially without taking undue risk. Granted he cares about the lad, thats a given, but he is managing the boy, which means he looks for the best deal each time around.

Right now Scott Quigg isn't the best "all-round" deal

 

I don't have a lot of knowledge of cazarez but looking at his recent fights I don't see any outstanding wins or even fighters who were close to being all that great. If he is a natural flyweight by 35 he is past it and I'm guessing had no choice to move up due to age related weight making issues. All assumptions though if it is fact that he is a top world level super bantam fighter I apogise but for me when you have a guy who is known for being a puncher and you put him in with someone who is naturally a lot lighter it's fairly obvious what the outcome will be

 

Good fight makes sense with WBC route. Cruz v Frampton is a great future match. Will put Quiggs fisher price title credentials to shame.

 

I agree wholeheartedly with what you say here. The post I replied to said to me that McGuigan was only in it for the money, maybe that's not what the OP meant, but many on here accuse Barry of being money grabbing.

 

Hearn and the worlds taking risks don't go together this the same guy who has Brook still fighting nobodies after 30 fights, the same guy who wouldn't let Barker anywhere near GGG, the same Hearn who had Quigg fight a guy ranked 88th. FW brought over Kovalev, he brought Martinez over for Burns, had Groves vs Degale fight each other ect Hearn is all about the money nothing more i doubt he even cares much about boxing as a sport. Secondly LSC walk through Frampton you clearly have an agenda Frampton punches way harder than LSC Santa Cruz has being fighting mostly blown up bantam and SFW;s yeah because Frampton coped so poorly when Kiko was trying to walk him down and he had to box on the back foot. To me its clear Frampton is better than Quigg notice how Scott and his team are not aching for a fight with LSC instead happy to defend that joke belt against guys ranked 88th!

 

Cazares is tremendous fighter, he might be given size away to Frampton, but if you think Frampton will win just because of his size and weight advantage then you are very much mistaken.
Cazarez won his title against Nelson Dieppa who was a really good fighter and he had two fights with P4P fighter Ivan Calderon losing the first one on cuts and got robbed on a split decision in the second fight. Cazares went on to win the super-flyweight title in Japan (very hard to do) after being robbed the first time and the writing was on the wall for him to get robbed of his title again in Japan a year or so later. Cazares has not had a legitimate loss in a long time and he will no doubt be Frampton's toughest test so far.

 

Up to the age of 29 Cazares boxed at 7stone 10.

 

What is the problem with people on here criticising frampton for fighting Cazares?

It's not rocket science in fairness.
Frampton didn't "choose" cazares, Hugo just happens to be no. 1 with the WBC.
Carl has to get past him to get his shot at LSC.
I think that is perfectly simple to understand.

(But then I don't have to take my shoes and socks off to count above 10!!!!)

 

To be fair some of the posters on this forum can count past ten by counting their toes

 

Not a great fight, but gets him his shot at the title. I think Frampton could be really special
