I think you might be both overrating Frampton and forgetting (or never having realized) just how popular Darch was in those days. He and Arce were THE two big global stars of the lighter weights in boxing for some years.
The rest of what you said is nonsense, about him being overrated etc, his skill level is very very high, the best of all the Brits p4p except perhaps Billy Joe Saunders. Coward is harsh too, fair enough with the Rigo one but he fought an elite guy in LSC and won one of the times. This however is true, the most frustrating, and worrying thing, as a Frampton supporter
Good fight. Selby-Warrington is also signed apparently so Id imagine the winners of both will fight each other in the summer. Especially if its Frampton. A Frampton-Selby fight would be a big box office in the UK. Could put it on in Windsor Park.
Last thing a boxer loses is power. Nonito may not carry enough power at featherweight but if he does and lands, this fight could be over quickly. In all likelihood Frampton is banking on a second rate aging version of DonaIre who he can outwork for A ud.
Oh boy, this post reeks of "I've been following the sport since exactly my join date on this site, but nevermind that I actually know everything there possibly is to know about boxing."
Frampton hasn't shown any real chin issues to make for any serious concern about whatever trifling sliver of his old power Donaire might have carried up & still retain at this late hour (for someone in this weight range)
This is a brilliant fight. Hopefully the winner of this gets the winner of Mares vs LSC and we can finally see a true FW champ for the first time in years.
