Carl Frampton vs. Steve Molitor RBR

Let's not forget that Molitor is cooked and was never really more than "OK".

He should be coming off two straight losses (didn't deserve the nod over Gauthier)

Arguably three, actually, counting Booth.


That said, Frampton looked great and positively thrashed him start to finish.

 

Martin Lindsay vs. Renald Garrido, 8 rounds @ super featherweight

 

Round 1

Lindsay is putting in heavy combinations to the body. Garrido is putting out a light jab while turning to keep up with Lindsay's movement. Lindsay must be landing over 90% of his body punches. Garrido is able to catch head shots on his forearms but is stuck in place absorbing constant body punches from Lindsay. Garrido gets through with a right hand during an exchange at the bell, but it doesn't phase Lindsay much.

Round 2

Lindsay is circling slowly to his left and hooking Garrido in the body. Jabs to the forehead by Lindsay. Garrido is moving in and trying to scythe the body himself but Lindsay is too quick and staying a few steps beyond. Right hand by Garrido clips Lindsay atop the head. Gum shield of Lindsay out, and Garrido actually apologized with a glove touch for hitting him afterward as the referee pauses the action. Time in. Hook to the body by Lindsay. Garrido ducks a right hand and blocks a 1-2 as he straightens up. Slow right hand put in by Garrido. Wild left hook by Garrido, missing. Right to the body by Linsday, clapped in sidearm as he ducks inside.

20-18 Lindsay

 

Round 3

Garrido tries to fish for body shots but gets backed up by a Lindsay combination to the head. Lindsay focuses on the basement once more, slapping in hooks to either side. Garrido is tucking his elbows together and throwing back, hitting Lindsay about the body. Overhand right by Garrido. Another, tickling Lindsay's chin. Toe to toe action here. Garrido is imposing his size and backing Lindsay up. More activity from Lindsay, throwing in combination while backing up. Big right hand to the ribs by Lindsay, and a 1-2 up top. Overhand right by Garrido, and an uppercut above the waistband.

Very close round. Worrying for Lindsay.

30-27 Lindsay

 

Round 4

Lindsay is scrapping in close with Garrido, whacking the body but getting caught with left hooks to the face and moved physically backward by Garrido's own body shots. Lindsay puts out a full-force combination and backs up. FLUSH jab and chopping right by Garrido. Lindsay jabs into Garrido's gloves. Right hand to the backside by Garrido as Lindsay circles away with his arms tucked in low at his side to protect against Garrido's body shots. Garrido reaches around his elbows to slap him on the sides. Garrido misses a left hook as Lindsay puts his earmuffs on and ducks.
