    won bronze in a multi-nations tournament in the Czech Republic.

    He has been part of the Irish high-performance programme for the last two years and would have gone to the Olympics had he not moved up from flyweight to feather.

    I haven't seen him in the pro's yet.

    Barry McGuigan:

    I've just this kid have a full on spar session with a much taller, stronger fighter and I was well impressed, pumps in left and right hands, after edging himself inside. Carries decent power.

    Found one of his amatuer fights - he's in the red. Seems a decent prospect.

    I know carl personaly and trained with him in ireland with gerry storey when he was still amature hes world class and gonna make a big bang real soon guys watch this space.can punch with either hand and is realy strong

    his fight last year in the irish national final with joyce for the featherweight crown was the best am bout i have ever witnessed its up on rte media player i will post a link

    its the first fight shown about 4 mins in frampton is in the blue corner

    Jeff Thomas was talking about Carl last year, sounds a real prospect. Shame FFN hasn't shown one of his fights seeing as he is on there a lot.

    Absolute class act, not the finished article by any strech- as long as he works hard and has the desire I think he CAN be a world champion. Seriously... He also posts here. Having watched him do well in sparring with one of the top champions about at the moment in John Simpson and by all accounts handle himself very well with Jason Booth- there seems to be real talent there. Also, proper nice lad- get behind him!!1

    Did the corner with Kev and the Storeys for his fight in Sunderland- was class... spotted something and Gerry agreed and shouted it out!! Man points for jeffro :lol::lol::lol:

    carl sparred john simpson twice at kevin's gym last year and done well although john was a good bit more experienced than carl,very nice lad with a great attitude and desire to learn,he needs to keep sparring guys better than him at this stage to keep improving.good luck to him!

    And a great spar it was too! Far more entertaining than most fights that end up live on Sky, and I'm not exaggerating. It was a privilege to witness. :good
    Simpson & Frampton are class acts both in and out of the ring.
