Carl Froc refers to Las Vegas as a "neutral" venue

Iv always thought of Vegas as fair considering its the top venue. I just cant remember if Lewis v Holyfield was in Vegas?

I agree that Ward should be made to fight Abraham in Germany, but the problem is it can't/won't happen now, it's too late. There's not really anyway they could justify it when Ward is the top seed and Abraham the bottom yet they give him home territory, and also the fact that both semi's were contractually obliged to be happening in the US.

They missed the chance to make Ward travel. They gave him a home-fight in his first fight, and unforseen circumstances have pitted him against another American fighter, giving him a chance to fight at home again, and a fighter who's home fight would be in Cameroon lol or Australia, where they can't draw either, so it had to happen in the US again, giving Ward another chance to fight at home.

To be honest, they should have seen something like this happening. It was poorly organized and poorly thought out. I mean they had Ward down after Kessler to fight two American fighters anyway so he might have argued for and won home advantage even if he fought both Taylor & Dirrell. They should have made him travel for that first fight.

Well put,Tommy.But the reality is that nobody took Ward seriously before the tournament as he was considered too green.Remember that Kessler(the fighter I personally thought would win the tourney) was the fav going in,and Abraham(even though he's since been exposed twice) was the dark horse due to his power.Nobody(me included) thought Ward had a chance.

 

Every nation is patriotic. Sure the United States is because we are involved in something that is sold to the people. People have died and still are (on all sides) since this War on Terror thing started. Add to that the fact that The US is still young and has came up with help from people from alot of different Nations. That's why some people are patriotic just like other nations have thier reasons. Still not liking a fighter because of where he is from is some BS and those people are what makes the world suck sometimes.

Still as far as boxing goes. People are more likely to cheer for people from thier region. You can't find an american poster who doesn't like some foriegn fighters. You can find alot of foriegn posters who don't like American Fighters though. Besides giving Floyd Mayweather his due because they have no choice, they go on to downplay every other American fighter.

In this day and age where alot of the world hates America, I would never fight in Europe. The Men hate us and the women love us. Sadly it's the men that are there cheering everytime the Euro fighter misses. I would only consider a neutral territory that has past with the nations fighter I was fighting. For example fighting fighting German in France might be OK but I don't know if I would go that far

In the US fighting ward anywhere besides Cali is fine. Depending on what nationality a fighter coming into america is, they might have an american fan base if the nationality is one that is somewhat tight knit in the US and keeps up with thier homelands media.

Lastly, anytime the two fighters or someone on the outside makes nationality an issue than you will see people at the fight waving flags regardless of where the fight is being held.

Just briefly how does Carl Froch Catch Andre Ward.. He couldn't even catch Dirrell unless it was with a Bodyslam or a rabbit punch.. Ward has speed and heart, has elbows, head and shoulder too.. Once Ward gets comfortable he see everything comming and Froch telegraphs all his ploding punches.. Ward is going to time that **** and embaress old Frochy..

at the end of the day, you're opinion of the matchup would be completely different if froch never fought abraham:deal

its easy to look good against someone who A) has no defensive skills what so ever and B) doesn't fight back. froch is a great fighter no doubt, but his fanboys have overrated him beyond ridiculous proportions because of this fight.
