Carl Froch roumered next 3 fights

Kelly Pavlik Nov. 3rd or Nov. 10th in Nottingham
Lucian Bute rematch Early 2013 in Canada
Mikkel Kessler rematch Spring 2013 probably in Nottingham

If Carl wins all three of these fights is he an ATG?
Also will his record surpass that of a certain Joe Calzaghe?

Since I think it would surpass Joe's resume I would have to consider him an ATG.

ATG for me. If he wins all three contests that is.

Also would you pick him to beat Ward if he iwns all 3. Presuming Ward is still unbeaten and still at SMW?

I don't think he can surpass Joe's legacy in my opinion. I know someone is going to say the pattented "Calzaghe never fought anyone" blah blah blah. But he retired undefeated and beat some great fighters.

But yes he would be an ATG.

I'm from Nottingham and have been a fan of Carl since before he turned pro, but he'd need to win a 175 belt to become an ATG for me.

November: Pavlik at 168 in Nottingham
March: Bute at 168 in Montreal
August: Kessler at 168 in Nottingham
    December: Cleverly/Pascal/whoever's a decent champ at 175

If he won the above 4 then he'd definitely be an ATG imo. It's a realistic but demanding path, below is my prefered route for him but it doesn't look possible because of Bute.

November: Kessler in Nottingham at 168.
March: Move up and beat Pascal (if Pascal beats Cloud) in Montreal.
August: Unify vs Cleverly in Wales
December: Fight another title-holder at the weight and retire as 3 time 168 champ and retire as IBF, WBO and WBC 175 champ with wins over Jean Pascal (x2), Jermain Taylor, Mikkel Kessler, Glen Johnson, Arthur Abraham, Brian Magee, Nathan Cleverly, Lucian Bute, Andre Dirrell and some other world champion (Shumenov maybe).

To answer your post, I'd say he would probably be considered ATG, but I don't think his record would surpass Joe's. He still lost to Kessler (who Joe beat) and to Ward.

Anywayz, he won't beat Bute in the rematch so this conversation is pointless.. :rasta :D

carl froch is one of my current favourite fighters but as limited as he is he can never become an all time great in my opinion. only the very best of the best can be counted as such and all those people would outclass froch.
i dont consider calzaghe an atg either for that matter. it takes more than that.

Uh I guess I mixed "ATG" and "HOFer" .. I meant Froch would be a HOFer with those wins.. add a few more, like beating Ward in a rematch, and a champion or 2 in the light heavies, and I'd consider him ATG.

Haven't you seen the threads saying Pavlik is an easy win cuz he's washed up now? Now his stock goes up cuz that would make Froch look better somehow? OK. :rofl

And Froch isn't beating Kessler anytime soon.

Froch and Kessler I respect a lot more then Calzaghe and Ward because they ain't afraid to travel and fight the best possible!

It would have been different fights if Ward came to Europe to fight one of them.
And Calzaghe was scared of Kessler and ran away from a rematch in Denmark.

    Sad but true.

    HoF'er yes ATG no.

His record would probably better Calzaghes yes.
Would he be considered a better fighter than Calzaghe? No.
