I think a Kessler win will improve his resume by leaps and bounds.

Don't think Pavlik and Bute II will enhance his standing too much. Won't hurt. It would be nice to say he beat another former Middleweight Champion, but Pavlik just hasn't convinced anyone "he's back"

I dunno it's a strange one this because I think his resume has already surpassed that of Calzaghe or at the very least is close to being past it. Many people consider Calzaghe an ATG!

I think the big one is Kessler, if he can beat him in a rematch then surely he has to be past Calzaghe. Maybe in 30 years time when people realise how great Andre Ward was then people might get over the fact that Froch lost against him and his resume will look better.

Froch has already surpassed Calzaghe in my book, despite having 15 less fights. I'm a Joe fan but his 46 is heavily padded and he rarely fought two tough fights in a row. Take out all the chaff and he doesn't match Froch's best wins.

Nice language you are using! :patsch
Bet you have a big dog to defend your house... :yep

I had Calzaghe winning with 3-4 points that's not much.
In a rematch in Denmark it could easily have been a different winner.

Kessler didn't want to waste this opportunity given to him even though he could not spar in 14 days up to the fight.

Love Kesslers hart but he should have been more cool in that situation.
The Stamina was not at full 100 % and after 7. round Kessler was empty.

Kessler vs Froch II will be calling for a thriller.. :D

would Froch get credit for beating Pavlik and Bute (again)?

I like Froch but for him to come close to being an ATG he would have to beat Ward and Kessler in rematches and win a title at LHW. That would be awsome.

Yes. Possibly the GOAT, that is if he can get that win over Ward. A fight with Ward in KNottingham could very well end in similar fashion as the Bute fight.:deal

When comparing Froch and Calzaghe it's fair to say that Froch's recent schedule has been tougher than any short period in Calzaghe's career, but over those 46 fights Calzaghe fought and beat better opposition.

    Froch's best wins - Bute, Pascal,Abraham, Dirrell

Calzaghe - Hopkins, Eubank, Kessler, Lacy, Reid, Mitchell, Brewer

Calzaghe also was undisputed SMW champion, and stepped up to beat the number 1 LHW in their own country.

That run of fights is an ENORMOUS 'if', when you consider Forch is 35 now, so he will be facing them at an age when Calzaghe regularly ran from young contenders and fought oldies only.

Froch should really be doing the pisseasy route like Calzaghe, not this route of prime bests at his age.
