Bute out boxed Andrade and it's only because of the drama at the end people see Froch in with an easy chance. Froch's getting on, he keeps getting involved in total wars (how many can he take?), he's not going to be able to keep it up for long - bring on Kessler I say.
Allan Green. totally average, ge's so underrated, but would give Froch a good scrap. Personally I think Frochy should find the winner of Ward vs. Miranda.
I don't see the point in taking on Miranda. He has been completely and utterly owned by Pavlik and Abraham... both potential future foes of Froch - granted he is decent enough to watch but he is better known for his big mouth and inability to take a punch. Kessler seems tied up, Bute has Andrade to come soon..... Ballsy won't fight anyone decent.... It will either be WBC mandos or someone from 160 or 175. I'd try and get Pavlik into the ring - so overrated it is untrue.
well, mainly because I think Ward will win but is overrated! So I would like Frochy to have his 'Lacy' fight if you know what I mean :good
Man, RedRooster and Hermit are hanging off of his nuts you can't say one bad word about him!!! Pavlik-Froch would be a good scrap while it lasts, but I really don't rate Pavlik's chin, and his power seems nonexistent anywhere above 160. Froch would deal with him, late stoppage.
I don't know much about Ward, so will have to take your word for it! In terms of Pavlik.... I did a thread on the General Forum saying that Hopkins would embarrass him and was laughed off.... should have bumped it! Probably the worst middleweight champion since Oscar De La Hoya..... in terms of linear ones my memory doesn't go that far, but can't think of a worse one.
Yeah, but then Oscar was gifted the title with that win over Sturm. Ward is very, very good.....just taking it slow and if Miranda doesn't spark him it will only be because Miranda really isn't that good anyway. Thing is, what if Frochy got lucky against Taylor??? I'm a massive fan now but it's in the back of my mind that he will be easy to 'school', as he has a great chin that will keep him in there but a fast boxer with good stamina will beat him to the punch and avoid Froch's heavy hands in return. Still, you have to have belief in the guy, he's a true Warrior, and as British a fighter as you could find! Coming back from the brink with pure heart and will, I love it:good
Froch should keep well away from Andrade, the guy has a fantastic chin and would throw far more punches than Froch. With Froch's leaky defence he could be outworked for a UD. He should be looking at Bika or Miranda as a relatively easy, but popularity building fight whilst Bute/Kessler sort themselves out. Once this has been done then he can challenge one of these guys into a 'Superfight'. He should keep well, well, well, well away from Hopkins. B-Hop's style would give him fits.
There are no easy fights out there for him if he wants to get the $$$$$$$ and recognition to go with it... speculate to accumulate...the higher the risk the higher the gain IMO.....:think:think
He should go for Bute if possible. Very winnable. Ok, so for the first half of the Taylor fight Froch didn't perform that well, but he was clearly very anxious/nervous and people don't give enough credit to Taylor for how good a fighter he is, especially in the first half of a fight. Carl will have learnt a great deal from the Taylor fight and will be more rounded when he fights in world class again, particulary if it's on foreign soil. I hope he's also learnt two lessons 1) That at the highest level his workrate must be higher 2) That at the highest level you can't always take someone out with one punch or a 'one-two', He must target the body more and punch in combinations
If i was Froch i'd go after the Kessler fight. People in this country know who Kessler is so it could generate some good money .. Considering that Froch has beaten better fighters than Kessler has beaten, i think its a good option. He should stay away from Hopkins at all costs. Theres no money for a Bute fight and i dont think Pavlik's people are the easiest to deal with. For me its Kessler all the way, Froch has a great chance of winning and its the fight he'd make the most money off.
At this stage in Froch's career he needs big fights .. He's not like Hatton or Calzaghe, they had big fan bases so they could make plenty of money from mandatorys, Froch doesnt have that so he needs big fights to make his money and now is the time .... The only guy i would stay well away from is Hopkins .. Froch is a decent fighter who can look bad but he can beat Kessler and Bute .. Im not sure how i rate Pavlik, it's difficult after the Hopkins demolition
Bute is the worst risk/reward of any of them. If he wins he gets an IBF belt and probably less money/glory. If he loses he loses to the perceived worst of all his options and is back to square one. At least there would be a way back from a loss to Hopkins and maybe Kessler. And thats a big possibility he loses to Bute.
Carl did one hell of a job to come back against Taylor but a fight against Kessler and the still dangerous Roy Jones Jnr should be avoided like the plague especially as his hands were down and defences need improving. Carl deserves a BIG pay day but a fight against Calzaghe is not going to happen
