I think Froch looks so slow mainly because he's so confident, so he never has much snap in his work. If you look closely, he often avoids punches, but only by a very close margin because he more or less "leans" away from the punch. I've seen few boxers with so open a defence and such slow movement who aren't totally easy to hit. This would be dangerous against Taylor, though, because Taylor can throw fast combinations.
We will see whether Froch will be able to afford his usual complacent style against Taylor - a top world class fighter.:good
This fight is going to come down to speed, and who get's off first. Jermaine Taylor hand speed is underrated, even at time's when he opened up pn Kelly Pavlik... All Pavlik could do was cover up, and wait. Both fighters work in pockets, and don't have great work rate's... Who ever, take's over with their Jab will win..!
Albeit one who hasn't proven himself at super middle yet and had several struggles at 160. Froch can't be complacent on this otherwise Taylor will just pick him off and win a decision going away. If Froch keeps the pressure on him and makes Taylor fight his fight, who knows?

He didn't look worse in those two fights than at 160 lbs... ...and I'm not going to write him off just like that...we'll see how well he performs against Froch... ...my view is that if Taylor plays the cards he's got in his pack just right, whatever Froch does or comes up with, save a lucky punch/combo, Taylor should win a wide decision... ...so...I am encouraged by articles such as these...I hope they reflect reality and aren't just hype and empty words and phrases: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=19190&more=1 Still...I'm excited to see what Froch does come up with, particularly if Taylor plays his cards just right...Froch's never had to dig deep or pull out something special against the level of opposition he's been in with so far...:think...he might yet surprise us all...
hes sparring with darren barker, who has a style a bit like taylor. hes going out to US 3 weeks before the fight.
i disagee. i honetly think Pascal is world class and will go on to win a world title. I thought Pascal was winning that fight and then Froch pulled it out and won the last few rounds.
Indeed. I think, to win, Froch will either need to improve his footwork (so that he can move away rather than just lean away) or improve his glove-blocking (which shouldn't be that hard with his stamina). Froch's physical talents have taken him this far, but beating someone like Taylor takes more than just physical talent. It's improve or lose time for Froch.
He might well win a title one day, but only if he improves quite a bit...and gets lucky. He was indeed winning the fight, the first couple of rounds...but by round 8 it was even stevens and then, Pascal started to feel the slow down and do very little and Froch started to have his way...Pascal was merely trying to survive by the end...but yeah, he showed heart, guts and survival instincts...
Yeah, but in the end it might turn out that the best way for Froch to approach this fight is to get into Taylor's skin and make him brawl with him. The mental battle will be important in this fight...Froch needs to treat Taylor with contempt and hope he bites. Stamina, workrate and power might be the things he might end up concentrating on, rather than the more technical aspects...:think
For someone with 21,000 posts you truly no sh*t about boxing. "If PAscal improves a bit..and gets lucky" Let me guess, you've never laced up have you? eh fanboy.
i dissagree with him needing to get on his bike to avoid punchs,he leans away very well and by doing this his feet are fermly planted to counter, hard:bbb i think he is very good at what he dus, world class easy, and is more than good enough to handle taylor:thumbsup
I like Taylor, and really thought he was criticised for just a few poor performances. Whether you thought he won or lost vs hopkins, the truth was he was the first to be truly competitive against the great man in years. In fact, only Calzaghe - whose style I will always say is a nightmare for BHop - has managed it since. I think Froch will wear down Taylor, though. He's too big, too powerful. p4p Taylor might be better, but not by enough to even up Froch's natural advantages. Froch could easily fight at light heavy (much like Kessler). btw, although slow, froch is (to me) quite obviously an elite fighter (i suppose he would pretty much have to be with the WBC belt).
