Carl Froch - Deserves more credit.

Froch would make a fantastic British soldier.

 

You have a point if it wasn't for the Ward/Dirrell crap for instance, who clearly had no intention to fight eachother while they were sceduled to.

 

I'm not a Froch fan, but I have to give him his props for acting like the fighter that Calzaghe should have been like.
Unlike Calzaghe, Froch is meeting and often winning against the top competitors in his PRIME, and not hiding out in London fighting dishwashers and carpenters.

Carl is not afraid of a loss, and in the end will very likely have 1 (Ward) or several more loses on his resume, but will ultimately supersede Calzaghe as being the greater of the two, making Joe look the bum facing K.O.B. he is.

The match I'd like to see is a fair turnaround by Froch using Calzaghe's selection techique. It would so sweet to see Joe make a come back with his 1st/2nd fight being against Froch. Froch would bust Calzaghe's ass and send him back to retirement at the crack-house.

 

like Calzaghe he is underrated. Most guys do not respect the hard working guy who learns the game and gets better from experience.

i love Froch now and i think he will take ward the distance maybe to a SD. He certainly wont take the beating many on here feel he will.

 

Froch gets his love, no doubt. Boxing fans know whom he has faced. You can't say he should be undefeated because the Kessler loss is basically the same as the Dirrell win. He is a damn good boxer but will have another loss when he fights Ward.

 

I don't see anyone underrating him on here. He gets enough credit.

 

yep he is far from underrated on here. he is a great fighter with a strong heart and will.

 

The Super Six has made this happen for him.

When was the last time he took a voluntary?

Jean Pascal,who was a nobody the time, was picked by the WBC to fight the vacant title.

Taylor was his mandatory and is not as good his name suggests.

Dirrell was inexperienced. If he never wins a big fight it will affect Froch's resume.

Ward would have fought the same fighters if they hadn't pulled out.

Big respect to Froch for travelling. However, look at Sakio Bika. How many backyards has he been to? Abraham going to Ward's backyard after suffering two bad defeats. Now these are the real warriors.

It will be interesting to see who Froch fights if he loses to Ward. People might get disapointed if fights someone like Yusef Mack or Sartisan. However this is the reality of fighting outside of the unique Super Six tournament.

Huge respect to Froch for getting on with it.

But he would NOT have put this run together without the Super Six.

before the abraham fight froch didn't get enough credit...i still remember people telliing me earnestly that abe was going to knock him out while i shook my head at their stupidity.

now? he gets plenty of credit. he is one of the most nuthugged boxers around.

 

So Froch's last two opponents have been the best he could have faced? Bull****!

In Calzaghe's last SIX fights:

He captured 5 world titles
3 opponents were the BEST he could have fought.
He BEAT the BEST at 168 and then stepped up and BEAT the BEST at 175.

How many fighters take on and beat the best in one division and then go up and fight and beat the best in the next division? How often does that happen? Yes it was late in Joe's career but he still did it.

Remember Calzaghe was willing to fight Steve Collins in 1997. However Steve Collins was forced to pull out.

So your saying a prime Robin Reid is a 'carpenter' but Arthur Abraham is an elite super-middleweight. This is the mentality of the Calzaghe detractors.

Calzaghe fought opponents as good as Froch's throughout his career - just not back-to-back.

The Super Six has allowed Froch to fight them back-to-back. Let's see what happens when the Super Six is over.

 

Should he be beaten by Ward,which I believe he will,he will end up with a 3-2 record in the tournament.Not bad but not great.He is getting the proper amount of respect these days.
