if he was to do that though, resume wise he'd be the best, but I'd still think Roy Jones would stop him
he might have the best SMW resume ever in a couple more wins but Froch would still get his ass beat by the very best SMW's in history Roy Jones, James Toney, Joe Calzaghe, Chris Eubank etc...
i think ward will easilky be the best SMW of all time but if froch can beat ward he will have stake to that claim
IF he were to do that, then yea he probably would be the best ever at 168. Big If though, I think Ward wins pretty easily against Froch.
OK, some of you doubt he'd beat Ward and Kessler, fair enough. BUT what if he were to beat them. Then surely he has accomplished everything a SM needs to in order to be recognised as the BEST. I don't see him losing to Pavlik. When Calzaghe was WBO champ his only unification fight was with Kessler. He couldn't even get a fight with Ottke ffs! I think the only negative for Froch is that he could potentially beat all the top SM, but economically, he falls well short of the kind of Money Calzaghe made for his fights with Jones and B-Hop, alone. I think froch would need a few Super fights to @ about £2m-£4m a fight in order to be "set" for retirement.
Hes not there yet but he could do it. Roy Jones is probably the most talented guy to fight at 168 and Calzaghe is up there because of the number of title defenses even if some of them were against questionable opposition. It all depends on the Ward fight. If Froch beats Ward he probably has two more fights at 168 Kessler and Bute if he wins them then I would put him at number one. If he loses to Ward he probably only has one more fight at 168 against Kessler then has a rematch with Pascal at 175. Would still rank him behind Calzaghe and Jones if this happened.
