Come on Brits. Admit it, Froch got a gift that night against a guy with 17 fights who never been 12 rounds before.

 

You're supposed to take the title from the Champion, not go into full retreat and attempt to suck his nob when he gets close.

Dirrell has no heart. Against Froch he resorted to full retreat, clinching and throwing himself to the floor. Now let's look at the Arthur Abraham fight. Dirrell starts off great, Boxing this time, taking a more offensive approach and still keeping range. Beautiful performance, he's full of confidence. Abraham adjusts, shortens the distance and starts to land shots. Dirrell's habbits from the Froch fight re-emerge. He runs, he holds and he falls to the floor.


No way did this nutless bottlejob win a world title.

 

there is no rule in boxing that you are supposed to "take the title from the champion". A champion relinquishes his belt on the night, and the 2 fight for it. It is essentially up for grabs.

Regardless, in the 10th round, Dirrell hurt Froch had him on retreat, and Froch got out of it by grabbing Dirrell's head and rabbit punching him, before throwing a comical right that missed by a mile. Dirrell put a beating on Froch in rounds 11 and 12. Go watch them if you cant remember.

If Dirrell didnt take the title by hurting Froch, Froch didnt do enough to keep his by not even being able to touch Dirrell a 17 fight novice.

Dirrell went into enemy territory and made Froch look so bad that Froch is still thought of as a wild club fighter even after some of the victories he had.

Dirrell won that fight. Clearly. Its a travesty he was robbed that night.

I didnt quote your point about the Abraham fight because it was wrong. First off, Abraham was bleeding badly from his eye when the ref stopped the fight and the ringside doctor was allowed to close his cut for 5 minutes. A round Dirrell was putting a beating on Abraham and I thought it might be stopped. Abraham got a second wind and was able to attack Dirrell with even more vigor.

Dirrell still was dominating the fight, and the round where he got hit with an illegal punch for which you laughably imply was his fault, he hadnt been hit wth a punch and was winning the round. And Dirrell slipped in that corner, because it was Abraham's corner, a corner Abraham's trainer was tossing around water like it was 110 degrees inside the arena. Dirrell had slipped in that corner before, round 7 I believe. He wasnt falling on purpose.

I dont like to bring up the Abraham fight, because they hatred for Dirrell is so pronounced among Europeans that you cant listen to reason. Dirrell is just a flopper who faked getting KO'd in a fight he was winning massvely. Ok whatever.

Point is, Dirrell was a novice then, and took Froch to school, he took Abraham to school, I hope that Dirrell comes back, because if he could do that to championship level fighters with no experience, and experienced Dirrell will be a force.

Is it Dirrell's fault he was born with more talent? Should he stand and brawl with Froch to make it fair? Should he dial back his speed so Froch can keep up? Should he not use his superior footwork and just stand flat footed and give Froch a chance to be competitive?

 

How anyone can hate on Froch is beyond me...

Should Dirrell not have been DQ for holding? You may say its within the rules to constantly hold in Oakland but its not anywhere else.

just watched froch-dirrell back again for the first time in a while.

had it 7 to 4 with 1 even for dirrell.

the even rd i would have scored for dirrell (10th) but he got the point off.

deal Dirrell as a novice with no 12 round fights and went to hostile territory and made Froch look amateur....after the Bute performance it really makes you think how good Dirrell really is!! He might be up there with Ward. Froch vs Dirrell 2 needs to happen. Dirrell would be more comfortable having gone through 2 high profile fights since.
