Absolutely top post, Kirk. Agree with every word and boxing would be better off with more attitudes in it like Froch's. Just goes to show how rare it is for a fighter to come along with the right attitude AND skills and just how special those kind of fighters are!
Froch lacks a lot of skills but he's still one of my favorite fighters, just because he's a fighter in every sence of the word. I take that 100 times over a technical slick boxer who refuses to engage. Look how much praise Dirrell got with his win over Abraham, despite of the ending he mixed it up (against everybodies expectations) with the powerpuncher instead of making it a running, grabbing, spoiling match like against Froch. I think there are not many fight fans here who rather see Floyd in comparison to the late Arturo Gatti. It's much more spectaculair.
people look at boxers and only think that things like speed and technique can get you to world level. people look for the silky skills too much there are dozens of other attributes needed to make world level, and where he may lack in speed & technical departments, he has outstanding other qualities.
amen brother. people on here will rather support Floyd Mayweather despite his cherry picking and boring ass fighting style over a warrior like Froch just because he masters the "Sweet science"
By the way I do rate Froch for what he's achieved and his positive attitude, I just found it funny that he said he was old school.
He is old school tho, tough and durable and willing to fight 15 rounds and not fake injury or try get other person DQ, able to take punishment and give it. Well thats my vision of old school atleast. Back to the days of tough fighters bare knuckle fighting for cash ect
There is a lot of things that can make a good fighter. Not just skills. Chin, toughness, heart, etc... Froch will meet his maker one day but so far he's done good with the cards he has.
War Froch! My new favourite for the tournament after Abraham disappointed me. Froch will get Kessler out of there late or win a decision, expsoing him for what he is; the worst in the competition, as I said from the start.
I 'm also a Bute fan but all evidence points to Bute not wanting to fight Froch, not the other way around. Froch didn't cherry pick in any sense, he has been avoided.
you like black fighters, we get it. oh.................... http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=212972 http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=212972 Fail much? atschatschatschatschatschatsch
