Carl Froch has claimed he is 'too big and too strong' for middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.
Froch hasn't fought since beating George Groves last May and looks increasingly likely to retire the longer his absence from the ring goes on.
However, the 38 year old has previously said he would be interested in fighting Golovkin, who has won 30 of his 33 fights by knockout - and has been mentioned as a potential opponent for Floyd Mayweather.

Well if he's too big and strong for him, then why is he going into retirement

Funny, he wasn't too big and strong for Taylor (a smaller middleweight than Golovkin) :conf

Froch needs to retire ASAP or fight Degale or GGG. He would win both fights IMO.

It took him until literally the last moment to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Golovkin doesn't have Taylor's chin or stamina issues.

    Carl's point is without validity.

He'd really hurt his legacy if he fights someone else including Degale. He needs to fight GGG or retire.

suddenly he's too big and strong? I'm a Froch fan, but he's clearly hurting his image with the whole Golovkin situation

Froch has always called himself a big strong super middleweight.

I think it's a mental thing that helps him pump up his confidence.

Yeah Carl really isn't doing himself any favours with the way he talks about GGG.

Its increasingly obvious he doesn't want to take such a risky bout for his probable farewell to the sport but in that case he should stop trying to justify that with all this nonsense.

Shame as I am a fan of Carl and think Froch - Golovkin is one of the most exciting potential fights that could be made.
